Hello everybody, this is my first post here...
I'm sponsoring my wife and son from Sri Lanka.
This is my timeline so far, my application was couriered to the Sydney office:
Application received : May 6, 2019
Biometrics Request June 26
Biometrics Given July 3
DM on Sponsor (Email Received ) : July 3

We have not heard anything from them since.
I also have a quick question here, what does "Biometrics passed" mean ? Does this mean that the Biometrics have been sent from the local VO to the
Sydney office or something else ?
When I checked my gcKey there are no updates at all, but the Biometrics Enrollment date and the expiry date has been updated. What does all this mean ?
Thanks in advance for the replies....

My application has been forwarded to the cpc office in Mississauga - does anyone know why?

It was received May 13th in Sydney and I received the medical request, biometrics request, AOR and sponsorship approval on July 4th.

Thank you!
Your medical and biometric are done? They transferred before the medical and biometric??

I am in the same boat and super frustrating when you see other people’s file moving at fast pace, even those behind you..
My timeline
App received: May 6
AOR: June 23
Biometric: June 26, Completed July 8
DM: June 27 (No SA email)
No medical request
No transfer

got my AOR today.

going by the tracker and posts, I can see that after Sponsorship Approval, CIC sends Biometrics & medicals within few days.

My spouse got Visitor visa after I sent the file to CIC and before the AOR, and she is here in Canada on Visitor Visa.
Is it possible to have biometrics/medical in Canada or she have to go back and get it done in the home country.

Thanks.

It's just a normal part of the process. Once they've approved the sponsor and requested the biometrics and medical, they transfer you to a visa office. Once it's there, they'll review the evidence you submitted to prove your relationship is genuine. You might get a request for additional documents if they're unsure of anything, but otherwise the next thing you will hear is the request for passport if they approve everything :) I got transferred to Mississauga on Friday, so let's hope we don't have to wait too long to hear back!

I would like to join as well! Is there also a group specifically for Quèbec?
You able to join?

The link posted on tracker is not working I think the invite is revoked now. Anyone in that group, if you can ask the admin to re-enable joining by invite?

She can give her medical in Canada if she goes to an approved panel physician, but you can't give biometrics for PR applications while you are in Canada. You have to go to a VAC, and there aren't any of those in Canada.

I believe multiple people have already told you that it's also perfectly normal for applications to get transferred without having received a medical request. I don't know how they decide who will get the request at the VO, or if it even means anything, but it happens. As has been said several times, there really is no official order these things happen in, it varies case by case. It's nothing to worry about! :)
