We asked the schools to send them to WES directly. Safest is for you to explain to your school that you’re applying for PR in Canada and you’re documents have to be directly sent to WES without handling them. (That’s what I did and the school accommodated the request.)

Haven’t heard of any rejections. But I guess if the school’s a recognized institution then it should be fine. Not sure though if they do have a list of schools they actually recognize.
Thank you phl2019. I already got my WES reference number and asked my sister to process the documents on my behalf since I'm in Dubai. Will do and asked them to send it directly...thanks very much.

If it helps, I’m also based abroad, so I also emailed the schools details of my request in case they need further background. :)

Hi po, regarding sa ECA has anyone from Benilde (BS-IT) tried WES?
From what I've read here might be better to go with IQAS for CSB but there was one person (BS-IS) who got 3 years equivalence?

Also just wanted to ask if you sent both your diploma and ToR or just the latter (since that's the only one that's listed in their website).
I read a blog somewhere that they sent both their diploma and ToR but that was like way back 2015 so things might have changed from there.

Thank you!

Did you find info on why it’s better to get ECA from IQAS? (ie. What happens to a Benilde credential assessed by WES?)

It does happen tho that a 5-year program gets assessed as a 4-year equivalent by WES... if downgrading is your concern, we can say it happens with both then.

With our WES submission, our schools only sent the TORs. Those have more info (course lists, units, etc.) relevant to the assessment, no? WES also only needed TORs.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Apparently there are cases where CSB Bachelors were only being considered as 2 year courses for WES and have been considered as at least 3 years bachelors for IQAS. Although as far as I've read it's been mostly for non-STEM courses (don't know if it's related). The downgrading from 5 to 4 or 4 to 3 would be fine but a bachelors being downgraded to a 2 year course puts a lot of points at risk :( Would just like to know if someone else in a different course has tried with WES.

And yes it helps. Thank you!

Oh that’s unfortunate. Maybe stay on the safe side. STEM or not, risking the drop in years is gonna make a dent on your CRS standing.

Hi Guys,

Regarding WES, I highly recommend that you send your documents yourself. That’s what I did. Why? You will be able to double check all the details and can track the whereabouts of your document. Also, your school may opt not to send your documents asap due to schedule or other reasons. Unlike if you do it yourself, you will have the complete control when to send it.

I requested for my documents to be certified by my school then I went to the nearest DHL outlet in my area. My school is in QC and the nearest DHL is at SM Fairview.

Basta ang importante, you need to make sure na sa pinaka malapit na DHL or courier mo papadala yung documents mo.

By the way heres my timeline:

WES: NOV 2017
IELTS: JUNE 2017
EE PROFILE CREATED: MAY 2018
ALBERTA NOI: FEB 2019
AINP NOMINATION: MARCH 2019 (Got 600 points via PNP)
ITA: APRIL 2019
AOR: MAY 2019
MEDICAL DONE: JUNE 2019 I had my done at St. Lukes Extension Clinic - Ermita
PASSED MEDICAL: JULY 2019
BIOMETRIC REQUEST: JULY 2019

Should you have questions, let me know. All try to answer with all my knowledge.

Good luck and may God bless us all

Pwede pala yun! I guess preferences then. :)
Thanks for sharing your timeline and good luck!
Yup pwedeng pwede. Kasi yung thought na alam mo ikaw nag padala, you know all the details, how it was sent, you know it was sent ay nakakapanatag ng loob. Hindi biro ang thousands of money na gagamitin for sending and processing of documents para ma assess ng WES. Still, opinion/suggestion ko lang to ha, based on my personal experience. ;)

Actually I thought hindi pwede ihandle ng applicant ang docs, the logic I followed was anti-tampering reasons.

Altho tiwala na rin sa school ko. :D

That’s good! Kasi ako I asked kung ilang days bago nila ipadala, sabi 3-5 business days pa. Then the guy from the admin office mentioned na I can do it myself. They handed me over the document na ipapadala nila. So everything was sealed in an envelope naman then instructed me kung san ko ipapadala since dun sa branch rin ng DHL nila ipapadala yung documents ko. ;)
