Hi, has anyone requested for rescheduling in Vancouver Visa Office, I had my appointment on June 18 at 1:00 pm, I went for the interview but my landing couldn't be completed as my passport was with Ottawa office for TRV stamping (TRV expiring on June 30). I know, very tricky situation and I have been mentally kicking myself. I had posted my passport on June 07 (Friday) to Ottawa and on the same day evening I received confirmation for my landing interview. I called CIC and explained the situation to them, they advised me to attend the interview and explain to the officer regarding my case.

Now I have received my passport yesterday and I have sent an email to WST_landing email address to reschedule my interview. Has anyone requested for rescheduling? How long does it take from the email sent for them to respond, and after how many days is the interview scheduled. My spouse and children's work permit and visitor record are expiring on June 30, I have re-applied but was hoping the PR process completes before that.

Thank you Shergill, I was told by the CIC agent when I had called, they asked me to go for the interview. I had explained my situation and was hoping to get my passport back before the interview date. Is there any phone number other than the CIC number where I can call the local Vancouver office?

Sorry forgot to ask, what was the reason for you to reschedule your interview?

Hey guys!

Just a friendly reminder for those who already got their new permanent SINumbers after their Permanent Residency, make sure you register a new online account with the CRA. I just tried logging in using my existing GCKey on https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-individuals/account-individuals.html but it gave me an error "ERR.041" and asked me to call 1-800-959-8281. I was able to speak to an agent after 20 minutes in the queue. The agent told me that I have to re-register on my CRA online account as they received a new SIN, and then she emailed me a new security code. It took me 5 minutes to set up and I was able to see all my previous years' tax returns linked to my new SIN already.

Cheers!
Do we have to call? Can't we just re-register with the new SIN? I am guessing they will link the previous returns.

I guess you could but you still need to get a new security code to register and the fastest way to get it is by calling; otherwise, they'll have to mail it to your address and it could take some time and/or get lost.

Hi all,
Just to let you know, we landed yesterday at Vancouver. We received our DM on eCas on April 11, and received the landing letter at the beginning of the month. The office was pretty full (I think there were about 40 people when we arrived in the afternoon), but after about a half hour wait, we were shown down a hallway and into a glassed-in office. The landing officer was very nice, and processed us quickly once we got into the landing interview, and we walked out with the COPR. The officer let us know that processing for the PR cards has sped up (as we've seen) and it should take about 2 weeks.

Thanks everybody on this forum for their help and advice. When we first started tossing around the idea of moving in together in Canada, it seemed to be a daunting and overwhelming process. Neither of us thought it would be possible and we didn't know what to expect. We learned a lot, and it was mostly thanks to this forum. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Yes, I have already emailed them on June 20, nothing yet from them, hence wanted to know the timeline for them to respond to emails and reschedule the interview.
