Does anyone knows how to speak to an agent on the automated phone service. Mine gets disconnected every time saying we are unable to transfer your call due to high volume of calls.

Hey all,

I am having trouble understanding some of the acronyms in this chat. We applied inland in January 2019. We completed the medical exams in May and today we received a letter saying that we meet the eligibility requirements. What does this mean exactly ? What are the next steps and timing of those steps ?

It’s Approved In Principle (AIP), you will receive the final decision usually in few days I would say 2-3 business days, after that you will receive the landing letter for the interview. Congrats

Share your timeline for others. Thanks

Apologies - I think I misunderstand it says “It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met”

What does this mean ?

It’s AIP as I said, if they asked for additional documents it means you will have to wait till they verify all the documents then after you can get the final decision. But if they did not ask for any additional documents they I believe you will get your final decision soon as I said. Congrats on the AIP anyway

Hey Ivylebrun,

Typically January applicants have been receiving their landing interview invitation 3-4 days after Decision Made with interviews scheduled typically 2 weeks later (depending on location). At the interview they will give you a temporary PR letter and your card will come in the mail within 3-6 weeks.
Here is the 2019 Spousal/Common Law Tracker:

Please update us if you have any movement on your OWP.

Thank you

Kylger do you think we'll be successful to get our OWP approved within this month? I keep on checking the website's processing time for mail applicants and yesterday it was still on Feb 13? Hope we do get it this month, really.
