Legend has it that CEC cases are taking longer than the rest to process because of the direct landing interview. Anyone here is able to confirm that? I have only heard of FSW applicants getting PPR recently and not many CEC applicants

A direct landing interview only applies if you're from a visa-exempt country. A friend of mine from Malaysia got a PPR email instead of a direct landing interview email (Malaysians need a visa to enter Canada). My theory on why they’re a bit slow with CEC is that most CEC applicants are inland, hence there’s no rush for IRCC to change our status since we’re already in Canada legally. On the other hand, most FSW applicants are outland, and IRCC probably reasoned that they would need an earlier heads up so they can prepare to move (which, I assume, is a pretty big undertaking).

Hello Everyone,

AOR: Feb 09, 2019
MEP: March 29, 2019
ADR: March 29, 2019

Visa Office: Sydney

no updates afterward.

I am currently trying to extend my work permit as it expires on August 02, 2019, I have a PGWP and I have a few questions:

When filling out the online questionnaire, I came across a problem.

I am currently working, so for the question: "Do you have a written job offer? " - I selected "yes"

However, for this question: "Which situation best describes your work situation? " - I selected "none of the above" because the options did not apply to me.

the final question which is "Do you have a Labour Market Impact Assessment issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)?" - I selected "No" - because I did not need one under my PGWP.

Please advise, how I can go about extending my work permit because I am confused according to the CIC website, I should be able to

:
.

Your response would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

1) You can apply BOPW, check details before applying
2) Did you put job offer yes in your application of PR ?
3) you should read, understand first, what is valid job offer.
4) having job in PGWP is not valid job offer for express entry, you need LMIA approved !!

Im not quite sure. My friend whose mep is just one day earlier than mine applying under CEC got ppr a month ago. I assume it's all about an officer's descretion.

Answers to your question.
1) I have checked the details, but when answering the questionnaire for BOPW it does not provide a choice for those with PGWP
2) I did not select yes in my PR, only in the questionnaire to get BOWP because if I don't then I will only be given the option to apply for Temporary travel visa not an extension of work permit.

Hi @divine015,

You can apply for Bridge open work permit which is equivalent to Open work permit....

Please find my thread for applying BOWP

This is simply not right. I am originally from China, which is not a visa-exempt country, but I still get the direct landing interview at CIC etobicoke. Only a small amount of people are invited to landing directly inland but nothing to do with visa-exempt country.

I got the gcms note on the exactly 30th day since I ordered it.

AOR: Feb 17
MEP: Apr 02
Vo: Edmonton
Criminality: In process
Security: Not started

Note 1 created on April 4 says " police certificates unable to pass criminality as RCMP remains at "batch sent".
I think many of us whose vo is Edmonton have stuck in IP2 becuase of RCMP backlogs.

Also find a little note says that Ready to finalize on April 4...o_O

Hope there have been good progress made in criminality check by now.

Good luck to everyone;)
Don't be stress out yourself too much. Good things will come soon...!

Hey everyone, I got my PPR e-mail this morning, but forgot to post it here.

I'm a 24y/o single applicant with a small travel history and 1 year of work experience in Canada (NOC 2174) in a young professionals visa.

09/01/2019 - EE Pool
30/01/2019 - Invitation
05/02/2019 - eAOR received & BOWP Application Submitted
21/03/2019 - Medicals Passed & Request Letter (Canadian PCC)
14/05/2019 - BOWP Approved
20/06/2019 - PPR

CPC Edmonton. It took me 135 days for me to get the PPR e-mail.

I also requested notes on Apr 25, got them on May 28, they were dated Apr 30 and stated eligibility "recommended passed", security and criminality not started.

Thank you all for keeping us posted. Best of luck.
