Hello,

I just had my Canada transit visa refused for some weird reasons, I'll be traveling from USA to my home country in Europe, I have a return ticket, filled out all the necessary forms but still got refused the transit visa.

My question is, will this visa refusal affect my future US visa applications?

Thanks,

What are the weird reasons?
the first one is they don't believe I'm going to leave the Country even though I submitted my flight itinerary and my transit time is less than 1:30h , I wouldn't even have time to leave the terminal. Based on the purpose of my visit and based on the purpose of my immigration status ( I have US visa )

you only have 1:30 hrs and you applied for transit visa??even I can't understand the purpose of travel..I don't think these are weird reasons,I mean this doesn't make any sense. a person with 1:30hrs is most likely predicted the one seeking entry to the country with intetion of remaining there for more than authorized time period
expert can give better feed back

I'm traveling to Europe from USA with a layover in Toronto,(the layover is 1:30h) I need a transit visa to enter Canada only for that period

again in such short period when you have to be off board from previous flight and on board to next flight, how can you leave the airport a you are left with no time

What is your home country?

The problem here isn't the short time frame between flights. Canada's laws are such that if you arrive in Canada - just by getting off your first plane - you can march up to the first border officer you see and claim asylum. Then we have to go through the process of evaluating your claim to asylum, and if we deny it, we then have to go through the process of removing you.

If your country is one that has a high number of asylum claims, and you have no status in the country you're visiting (the US) it may make you a higher asylum risk.

Frankly, and I know it's frustrating to read this, it may be easier to book travel that avoids Canada.

He/she needs a transit visa just to wait for his/her connecting flight in the airport. He/she is not talking about leaving the airport premises. This is common for many countries.
