Hello, does anyone know what is the longest it could take to get a decision on your application?
I applied on 17th March, had an appointment for biometrics on 20th March and since that I didn’t receive a single update (my GCkey account just says ‘submitted’). When I applied processing times were 17 days from the UK, now it’s 22 but mine is still taking much longer than that.
After emailing the Help Centre about my application taking a longer time than average, they told me not to worry and that it’s definitely being processed. I am meant to be travelling next month, which is why I’m so worried about it now.
Is there anything I could do to speed it up somehow?

It's not unsual for processing to take a few months - there's really no longest time that it could take. The processing times posted on the IRCC websites are just estimates. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do to speed up processing - we generally don't recommend buying airline tickets until the visa has been approved for this reason.

That makes it a bit annoying because you also have to show your airline tickets to help your application, so it doesn’t really make sense (as in having to show the airline tickets, not your response)

You actually don't need to book an airline ticket to show as part of the application - you just need to show an itinerary. The instructions on the IRCC web site aren't the best.

It's a shame you didn't find this forum earlier - we would have told you this. But anyway - what's done is done. All you can do now it wait.

Do you know if me making an additional application might help somehow? I’ve applied online, but say if this time I make a paper application

Hi,

I am waiting from 2nd April no progress at all. I have flight booking on 12 Jun to Montreal.

I have planned US and Canada trip for my family starting from Montreal , we were processing US and Canada visa parallelly from UK.

Applied US visa 11 April ,received US B1-B2 Visa valid from 15 April 2019.

Up to 5th May there were no progress then I came to know if you have valid US visa, then your Canada visa application will be processed in FastTrack with CAN+ Status. I sent our US visa copies through CIC Web Form , thinking this might help to process our Canada Visitor Visa easily.

I have received the response that they were processing our application , will get in touch with us as early as possible. But up to today there is no any movement in our application. I didn't throught CANADA visa process takes that much time, no transperency at all about timeline.

I dont think even US visa helped them to process our application with CAN+ status. I am worried as i have promissed my family to bring them on vacation now i dont know whether its possible only one week is remaining. I am Ok to postpone my flight but after reading yours for how many days i have to postpone my flight that is also not clear. I didnt find any customer care number for Canada embassy in UK which might help in providing at least timeline.

I applied on 2 may. Still reviewing my background and not start reviewing eligibility yet. Sent few webform but no reply yet. May I know how long are they going to take to reply the webform? (Coz on website, it says they will reply 3-5 business days, but after I submitted webform, it said they will reply within 28 business days)

Went to Canada house and VFS. They said they can't do anything about it. and the only way is to wait and send webform and email. But they don't reply webform and email.....
