From which city are you? What did the officer say during your interview?
Toronto, Mississauga office .
He asked about my travel history. After sending application I went back to back home country and came back for test.
Just some questions about what did I do when I was not in Canada .
It seemed that they were normal questions

I am almost 20 month since I applied and almost 14 month from the test, still In process. The problem is there is no transparency to find out what is the reason of delay .
Hello,

I am in the same position. Any update on your case?
I applied October 2017 and got my test on Jan 2019.
After the test and interview, I was congratulated and told I would get my oath soon.
However, no DM on my file and no oath yet. Four months and no DM.
When I contacted local MP first they said IRCC says nothing wrong with the file, when I asked again then why is it taking so long the IRCC said it is a complex case regular processing times do not apply.

Has anyone else been in this position? My whole family has gotten the citizenship and my case is almost identical to theirs so I dont see how mine can be complex.

Your oath invite will come eventually. The responses from them are just to shush you! Take it easy.

You always seem to dodge criticizing IRCC at all, not that it would matter of course, but why? We all applied on time just like everybody else, and even though some may require extra "processing", I still see no valid reason except incompetence (with a significant number of agents) in the process on the side of IRCC to finalize these long due applications. I've chatted with friends living in other countries where the process is completely transparent at every stage of the application, but not with ours. Did you see the interview with the immigration minister about the extended delay of Iranian applicants waiting for their PR? He kept dodging the question and refused to give a clear answer. In my case, they've been conducting a background check since March 2018, what kind of a background check takes that long? Are they telling me that after one year they still can't determine if I am a threat to Canada or not? I've been in Canada for 10 years now, but they still can't determine my validity for becoming a citizen. You can certainly sense my frustration, but I simply can't help it.

My status says: Decision Made as of today when I had logged in.
But nothing changed inside.
Didn't receive any email on that as well.
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 27, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 23, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on February 21, 2018.
  4. We sent you a notice on March 1, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on March 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us

I see them just like I see a rude Mc. Donald’s employee. Nuisance can’t be talked about; simply ignored.

And the current immigration minister doesn’t have a fan following; NOT AT ALL!

No updates...
Security clearance is still pending...
This is what my local office here in Vancouver told me last week...
Nothing can be done until this is done no matter what you do.
I also talked to a lawyer, he mentioned that we would need to wait at least 2 years before taking the mandamus route..
So I guess till October this year, I just need to wait and hope for the best...
Not to mention that I was on the brink of losing my job cause I needed the passport to travel to Europe and US hassle free..
