Hi,

If I apply for a policy certificate from my home country now, I should get it before I apply with couple of months, is it OK to submit a police certificate that is two months older than the application date?

Thanks,

~A

If you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada and this time falls within this four year period, you are NOTrequired to provide a police certificate.

Thanks you 3bdcanada, I did travel to home country after landing, so I may need one.
My question is it OK to submit a police certificate that is two months older than the application date?

Thanks,

As long as you have it after your last visit, then it's fine. Mine was 6 months older and i'm already at "decision made".

"The police certificate must either have been issued:

  • after the last time you were in that country; or
  • no more than 6 months before the date you sign your citizenship application"

were any of your trips home longer than 183 days in a row? if so then you need to provide a police certificate, if none of your individual trips were 183 days or longer in a row then you don't need to provide a police certificate.
