Hi Himel420,

I don't know what the standard practice is, but I can tell you what I did, and I got the Visa I think mainly because of my SOP as my ties to home country were quite weak and I had other weaknesses in my application.

So here's what I did, I first copied and pasted all the questions in a word document and entered enough space between each question equally to form ONLY 1 page. to do this, I had to put the page margin in word as narrow, otherwise the SOP would not fit. I also put all fonts at 10-11, not above that.

After that, I answered each and every question separately, this way, the exact questions were answered.

I will give you a simple sample below, with the answers deleted. I deleted the answers as there are a lot of personal information within them. This is also one more important aspect of the SOP, do not be afraid to write how much money you are making, for example, I pointed this out in the last answer, to show them my ties to the home country. I am also not saying that this is the best way to write the SOP, many more knowledgeable members might disagree with me. But I hope that this helps you as a starting point.

Study Plan
My Name is xxxxxxxx and I am a xxxxxxxx National. I am currently a xxxxxxxxxxxx working as a xxxxxx in a xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Company. I have decided and would like to pursue an MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Finance at the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, University of xxxxxxxxxxxx, Canada starting in Fall 2016. I would like to detail my study plan in the format below.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I have some confusions.

1. Is it necessary to give all 2 of my old passports to the Visa officer? Also in the SOP, is it important to write about my travel history. Like in the last 4 years, I have visited India and China several times.. Should I explain it why I visited those countries and also mention arrival and departure date ?

2. How can I prove my family ties here in Bangladesh? My father is a businessman here and I am his only son. So logically after completing my studies I need to get back to the country as well...Should I write all these in the SOP?

Here is my academic background :

SSC : 5.00

HSC : 5.00

Bachelor in Computer Science : North South university 68%

Ielts : 7.5 ( L:8, R:7, S:7, W:7)

Got offer from Humber College Post graduate Certificate in Information Technology Solutions( Enterprise Development Module)

Hi enywmara, i just want to ask regarding the SOP, should you answer the questions concisely or do you need some additional explanation, or number of words to state your purpose? I am also planning to study in Canada and apply for a student visa

By the way, may we know from what school did you apply and how was your student visa?

Thank you very much!

If you are Bangladeshi national then chances are very slim for you getting study permit for certificate programs. I strongly advise you visit IDP or you can Inbox me and I can show you the record of the past rejections for college/certificate programs for Bangladeshi Nationals.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Education is a companion which no future can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate it and no nepotism can enslave” It is this maxim that urged me to think higher right from my young age. POLITICAL STUDIES, SOCIOLOGY have always fascinated me I knew that it was in the law based subjects that my interests and greatest ability lay. Although I have enjoyed the challenge that my school-based work has given me, I have always sought to extend my knowledge in these subject areas by considering the application of the theory we learn within the curriculum to the real world.
Personal Information:
I wish to introduce myself as I am Gurjot Singh Sandhu S/o Mrs. Gurpinder Kaur Sandhu & Mr. Hardeep Singh Sandhu. Currently I am residing with my Parents and one younger sister in Sri Ganganagar city. By profession my father is running a “Boutique”; moreover in addition as our family background is connected with agriculture professions so my father also taking care of all types of agricultural activities at our village, for your kind reference J Forms are attached with the application. Whereas my mother is assisting to my father in the Boutique business and she is also looking after the all household activities at home. My younger sister pursuing her studies here in India.
Academic Background:
Regarding my educational journey till date, I completed my Higher Secondary Certificate Examination in 2017 securing (07.4 CGPA) 70% marks from the Akal Academy Kamrani Tibbi, Hanumangarh Raj affiliated to CBSE ( Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi). My alma mater gave me a strong foundation in academics and the Co-curricular activities.

Hindi, and secured 75.7% marks.
It was during the pursuance of Senior Secondary course that I developed a strong aptitude for JUSTICE STUDIES DIPLOMA. The only reason that motivates me to move Canada is to pursue my higher studies as I have heard a lot about the amazing education quality offered at Canadian Institutes while pursuing my senior secondary I got to know about the significance of Justice Studies Diploma to protect the public and punish the criminals and stop them for any inconvenience activities.
English Proficiency:
While exploring my education prospects I realized that English language efficiency is necessary to study in Canada which is one of the most educated countries in the world. Due to same I have also appeared recently for the English proficiency examination i.e. IELTS and scored 6.5 Bands overall: Listening-6.0, Reading-7.5, Writing-6.0 and speaking-6.0 in the year 2019.
