Hello all, I finally got my COPR! I'll share some details about my timeline for future reference.

June 18, 2018, I applied along with my wife.

July 9, 2018, my file was under Review Required and I received an ADR asking for a Schedule A form containing some details about me (principal applicant) during a certain period. Form uploaded on July 16, 2018.

July 19, 2018, passed medical exam.

October 27, 2018, background check started.

April 4, 2019, received an ADR asking for another Schedule A (with all my personal history, travels, addresses etc for the last 10 years), a "Government Employment form" (detailing all government positions I held in Brasil; obs.: I've had several jobs in the government), and a proof of "Military records" (which I had none; I attached proof of my exemption from military service).

April 25, 2019, renewal of medical exams requested. Then it hit us that my wife's passport would have less than 6 months before expiration by the time we were planning on going. So, we simultaneosly took steps to undergo medical exams and to renew her passport. Took us roughly a week to do both.We undertook new exams on the following week and "passed" them on May 10, 2019.

May 13, 2019, we received the PPR email. The PPR email gave us the option to either submit our passports via VAC (VFS Global) or directly to the Consulate in São Paulo. We didn't see the point in using VAC, since they would use regular mail service just as the Consulate (and charging a ridiculous fee per passport).

May 16, 2019, we picked up my wife's new passport, which we submitted, along with mine, directly to the Consulate. We attached a letter mentioning her passport renewal and a photocopy of her previous passport with a "cancelled" stamp by the Federal Police.

May 17, 2019, the Consulate received our passports.

May 23, 2019, our myCIC profile status changed to "approved."

May 29, 2019
, we received our passports and the COPR back from the Consulate.

The end.

Thank you all for the support. Best wishes to all!

Congratulations to all who got their applications approved recently, and all the best to the rest. I am sure you will soon. I never thought I would, especially after the 8 months passed and I received my gcms notes and they showed I was under security screening. I thought that would take forever because I am from the middle east and my applications for a study permit was refused about two years ago.

What I did, which it might or might not have helped, was to order gcms notes once every two months after the 6 month period ended, and also to email the local visa office, after I knew that it moved there two months after I submited my application, once every month after about 5 months from the time I submitted my application.

I did this because after the first time I emailed them I felt that my file was sitting there idly. They responded by askinig me to submit a police certificate which I had already submitted. They then said ah ok, then send us schedule a form and another police certificate. This was confirmed in the first gcms. But things moved more quickly and security and criminality started to get passed one after another.

Once again all the best to everyone.

By the way, do we have another page or group for the next steps, or should we continue here?

Does the remed request comes directly or it follows after a ghost update?

how long does it take from remedical to medical passed again to ppr?
It is a matter of a day or two since the moment the clinic uploads your medical to the Emedical system for medical pass. From medical pass to ppr, it may be somewhere from a day to couple weeks depend on the VO. Did you get remed for the whole family ?
