Thankyou for the response.
While waiting for PR, I am planning to apply for my spouse’s owp.
I have collected all the documents. Just little confused about presenting the relationship information.
Am I suppose to write an essay of 5-10 pages how our relationship started?
Along with the docs like, call history, joint bank accounts, marriage certificate and photos.
How about the chat history, how can we send them the whole chat history, there are some parts which you don’t want to share, so how do you do it?

If you have added him/Her to your PR application i then i will not advise you to apply for her OWP IF he/ she is outside Canada because there is good chance it will rejected as you have already applied for her/his PR, If she is already in canada then both of you have to apply for OWP extension and you do not need any proof of relationship

Hello,
I received an email (2 days ago) to update my application and send my passport for confirmation of PP since my PR process is almost complete. I did send my passport and update my marital status as I became common-law very recent. Can someone advise on how this will affect my application? Will it be placed on hold or will the application still continue as is? Do I have the option of not including him to my application? Kindly advise

Did your marital status changed before Passport was requested or after?

You need to inform IRCC of any changes to your marital status while your application is being processed, now what usually happens in this kind of cases is they will send your passport back and ask you to add your common-law partner in the same application and process the application again or if you are lucky then they will just accept the updated status and stamp your passport and you can do your landing at the time. Wait for your passport to return if there will any changes they will notify you with further steps on what you need to do. There wont be any negatice effect.

Thank you Pjoshi2789, I was getting worried that it might affect my own application. Would it be a terrible idea to change my marital status back to single?

Yes if you have already changed to common-law and it has been updated on your file then you cannot change it back to single.

So, should i just have to proceed with the current update? Sorry for the repeated questions, I just need clarification on this. Now they asked me for some documents. Will I be the principal applicant now in our case. Please see below the documents they requested for and advise. :)

Controlled documents required for continued processing:

 Updated IMM0008 Application for Permanent Residence in Canada to be completed by the Principal Applicant; (Am I the principal applicant now)?

 A completed and signed IMM5406 Additional Family Information by your spouse;  A completed and signed IMM5669 Schedule A by your spouse;

 A copy of the marriage certificate or a completed and signed IMM5409 Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union. In the case of Common law Union, please also provide evidence of cohabitation between yourself and partner for one year or more;

 A copy of your spouse’s valid passport;  A copy of your spouse’s birth certificate;

 An original police certificate for all countries your spouse has lived for more than 6 months since the age of 18 years; (for more information, consult the following link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp);

Thank you very much Pjoshi2789

Yes you will be the principal applicant and your partner will be your dependent. Fill all the required forms and documents they will add your partner in your current application. Then your will getting another PP request for the stamping process, now this process could takes 6-8/10 months maybe more.

You should wait one more week and should get marriage when your stamping process was done as it was easy for you but now the time for spouse Pr is 9-12 months

Thanks a lot guys. So my partner is currently in school for his undergrad. What should I put as his highest level of education? And what should I pout under the part that requests for his intended occupation? Also the number of years of education in total on form imm0008 is it the total years in Canadian institution or the total number of years I was in school from when I was young.

Total number of schooling, you can start with current education and go backwards, you can use the field of his studies as intended occupation.
