Getting car loan or lease as temporary resident?

Has anyone been able to get a car loan or lease as a temp resident here in Canada? We are here under a work permit (in process of getting perm residency) and will be in need of a new car soon as we are turning in our lease back in the USA in a few months.

I have read about a loan program through Scotiabank - but not sure if that is only for new immigrants with PR status and if they do give loans, perhaps they only give loans for the remainder of your work permit?

Maybe leasing a car is easier as a temporary resident??

Thoughts?

I believe the program with scotiabank is for PR residents, we are with it too.

Anyone know any car dealership/brand is willing to lease car for Work permit status?

I already applied for PR and waiting for PR result, but i need a new car like soon due to my personal reason (commute to work etc).

Why not ask that question at a dealership of your choice? It is probably more reliable than asking us here on an immigration forum..
