Adding a missing document to my citizenship application

Hello,

I have submitted my citizenship application in May, and the Canada Post (XpressPost) tracking shows that it was delivered on May 18. I haven't got an AOR yet.

I was stupid enough not to notice that "Note: You cannot use your permanent resident card as identification." So I only included a photocopy of my passport (biographical + traveling record), and a photocopy of my PR card. I thought that counts as 2 pieces of identification. It gets me worry now.

Question:

1. Must I include a photocopy of a second photoed ID in addition to my passport (like my medical insurance card)? I looked at the cit0007e checklist again and it says "photocopy of personal identification," and the instruction guide says the same. I'd like to make sure if my passport counts as the ID that I need already, if they only require one.

2. If I must provide a second photoed ID, can I mail it as soon as possible? What should I say in this additional submission? Do I need a write a letter to explain my situation?

You cannot do anything currently. If you get a lenient officer then u might get AOR. If not , the package could be back to you.

1) Yes, you must. The instructions are quite clear. It's your passport + one other.

    • diploma, certificate or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program in Canada or abroad, where the language of study was English or French
    • proof that you have reached the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher through a government-funded language training programs.
      OR
  • If you are 18-54 years of age and unable to demonstrate that you have the necessary English or French language ability due to a medical condition, you must submit a supporting evidence with your application. Please provide photocopies of one of the following:
    • An audiogram and an attestation issued by a Canadian audiologist if you are hearing impaired; or
    • Evidence from a medical practitioner in Canada if you have a disorder, disability or condition that is cognitive, psychiatric or physiological in nature.
• Photocopy of personal identification. Examples of identification you can use include:
  • driver’s license;
  • health insurance card
  • senior citizen’s card
  • age of majority card
    Note: You cannot use your permanent resident card as identification.

You can't send anything until you have AOR as there is no way to link the new material to the application number allocated to the first submission. This is notified to you by the AOR.

Is it approximately 4weeks post delivery? Do we get an email acknowledging the AOR?

Hi,
I think what you mean is, if a copy of your PR card is required. The answer is 'NO' it's not required in your application package but you will have to bring your original PR card to the test and oath later on.

Since my application is accepted and I have an Application #, can I submit my biographical pages again with a letter explaining the reason to submit it? Or should I wait for their response.

If I should send it, anything other than my Application #, UCI # and Name that I should be mentioning, so that this additional document is linked/attached to my file.

Since you have gotten AOR there is no need to send any additional paperwork. If they will require anything they will let you know!

The paper application was sent and i am worried if my application will be returned by CIC. So while searching the forum i have noticed your post which is similar to me. Hi, I am currently in the same situation. I saw on the tracker that you became a citizen, and the dates match the original application. I'm assuming they either asked for an additional ID or processed your application with only the PR card and the Passeport, but I am still a little stressed about it.
