Agree totally, when I applied for PR earlier, eCAS never show status updated after I got my PR, even when I landed the status is still In Process only. eCAS should not be relied upon as a reliable source of application status.

Yes you're absolutely correct. Just because we do not have App recvd doesn't mean they haven't touched our package that's with them now or its incomplete.

Ircc is known to update a lot of sponsors status in a single day all together. Means almost a lot of us will receive app recvd same day when they update it.

Nobody knows until after the election. My opinion is that no they won’t go back to the 7-8 years of processing but if the conservatives win the amount of PGP applications is likely to decrease.

Think there will likely be changes no matter what. I think many would be happy if the amount of time as a citizen or PR has spent in Canada or working in Canada is factored in to who gets selected. Demand will always be more than supply so who gets priority may be the next discussion.

Yes Hopefully our files are all processed before the election. And we are close to getting PPR around election time.

yes, her status in Canada is visitor. but her "intended occupation" i listed as retired/volunteer, meaning she won't be working.
and if that is wrong.. oh well.. app is already out.
She should also be careful many volunteer jobs in Canada would be considered working illegally. Yes her occupation is retired but people keep saying that their parents are living in Canada. They are visitors and their extensions will not go on forever.

my mom has been coming and going within time frames allowed by CBSA for the past 7 years. we have been doing everything right from the get-go. my mom has been volunteering with the city in events and community kitchen for a couple of years now. when we put down volunteering that is exactly what we meant: i will have some faith that the officer will take all of her history into consideration and not assume the worse.

I am sponsoring my mom (principal applicant). Checklist states that IMM 0008DEP must be completed and signed by principal applicant. But the fields on the form asks for relationship with principal applicant. So I am confused now. She does not have any dependent. Should she fill the form?

Yes, you must pay the application fees for both of your parent. And both of your parents must pass medical exam too. Once your application is completed (when you parents are approved as Permanent resident) your father can decide to live outside or in Canada.
There is no option, according to IRCC requirements, that allow a single parent while in legal marriage and alive, to be separated from the other.
Sorry I doubt it. I think non accompanying member not required to pay fees but their medical and background security check is a must. I am not sure but you need to research further I may be wrong.

Regarding form 008 ( Generic)
There is a question regarding a National Identity Document - which my folks do have ( South African )
BUT there is no expiry date of that document .
OF course we are unable to validate without an expiry date !

?Solution ? - put an expiry date x years ahead and attach a letter explaining this ?
Other options for this type of issue ?
I will validate without expiry date. Then write by hand life time

Hi, I am single (1) and sponsoring my Grandparents (2), what should I put in column Family Size of question # 14 of Financial Evaluation IMM 5768? I think I should put 3 (me and two my Grandparents) for all three years and to present day. Or should I put 1?
