Sure. Thank @Fabiorf please keep posted.

Update on my end, received a work permit support letter from OINP today in mail with same Employer.

I am looking for other jobs now. Not sure what will be my next step from there.

May be @Wonderland_1010 you could help/answer my questions, following are confusions:
  • Let say I got another job, and employer is ready to do what ever is required for my work permit
  • Do I need to tell OINP that, I am laid off by my X employer, and I found a new employer ?
  • Should I just simply ask them that, I have new employer for the same Job (NOC code), so can you just issue a new work permit support letter with new employer name on it ?
  • also should I ask them that, they will inform IRCC about my change job or I should tell IRCC?

How did you get another work permit support letter from OINP one year after being already approved for PNP?

Did you email them just explaining your WP was about to expire and PR process hasn´t been approved yet? If so, did you mentioned in this email you were about to change job by the end of this year (2018) ? How long did it take for them to answer?

I understand your answer for the second question would be YES, what brings you now to the same situation my wife is. She changed the job after applying for PR, and she emailed OINP informing them about that change. So far she got no answer, and again it looks like OINP doesn´t care if change your job after their approval

I call them first, and told them that, my work permit is about to expire, and the support letter I received from OINP is expired. Told them that when I received my PNP I had more than 1 year of Work permit duration left, so I didn't apply for work permit extension at that time. Then she said, you will have to send some documents to get the updated work permit support letter.

So, I emailed them saying that, I spoke to a lady from OINP support team, and she asked me to send them xyz documents for my updated work permit support letter. I mentioned again that, I received my PNP and support letter on xyz date, at that time I had more that 1 year of work permit so I didn't apply for work permit extension, just applied for PR.

I also mentioned the expiry date of my current work permit, and said that we need to apply for extension but support letter is expired.

So, I requested them if they can issue me an new Work Permit support letter without employer restriction in-case if I need to change my current job in future. I also include my PR application current status includes, Eligibility, Security/Criminality, Medical Request/Medical Passed, and Passport Request (which is still in waiting).

But the first email I received from them said that "We are reviewing the request. Please note that work permit support letters are restricted to the employer that supported the nomination. After 2 weeks I received my work permit support letter (restricted to employer) in mailbox.

Just FYI:
email: ontarionominee@ontario.ca
subject: Request Work Permit Support Letter - PNP Application #

I hope this will be helpful and will answer your queries.

Hi. Just wondering how are you doing? Did you manage to find a new employer for OINP? What is your status currently?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, so please let me know if I have posted it in wrong forum.

So here is my situation:
  • I came here as a student, graduated in 2016 summer, applied for my PGWP, got it approved in 1 month.
  • Worked for 1st employer for almost 1 year.
  • Switched to a 2nd employer in 2017 and applied for OINP - PNP - Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream at the same time, got that approved in 1 month. Applied for permanent residence in 10 days after PNP approval.
  • I got medical request in end June 2018, got it done in start of July and status is passed.
  • Now, my PGWP (which is an open work permit) is about to expire in November 2018 (in next 2 months)
  • After almost 1 year and 3 months working for 2nd employer, they have started laying-off people (because of some bad circumstances of company), and I am one of them.

Note:
  • The PNP, I have says restricted to 2nd employer name, but that was expired after 6 months of the issue date.
  • The PNP also came with Work Permit support letter with 2nd employer name on it. And it also says that "This letter must be used in support of a work permit application within 6 months to remain valid". I am not sure what does that mean.
  • My wife is a dependent in all above applications including WorkPermit, and PR.

Am I still eligible to apply for BOWP, or Open Work Permit ??

I have done little research about BOWP. here is the link about BOWP eligibility, according to this, it looks like I am not eligible:
Also I tried creating an application on CIC portal, with the situation I explained above and selected "applied for permanent residence", and "no job offer" in one of option in questioner. It gave me option for Open Work Permit, I checked the requirement of the documents, and there were simple documents it didn't even asked for PNP or PR or any supporting letter.

I am not sure what should I do :( ??? Please Help!!!
Hello sk0101,

I actually have the same situation.

My Permanent Residence Application Status is in Process. They started processing my application on March 15, 2019. However, I lost my job on March 6, 2019. Do you think that will affect my PR application? When do you think they will request the medical exam?

Thank you for your help!

I applied for PR with an OINP job offer. I lost my job, I notified to Ontario about it and they withdraw my nomination. Today I received from IRCC a medical request. I am not sure what to do next. Please advice!!

When did OINP withdraw your nomination? I suspect that IRCC will get information about the withdrawal from OINP and IRCC will stop processing your application. My suggestion would be don't do the MR since you are no longer qualified for PR under PNP.

OINP withdraw my nomination on April 05. After the medical exam, the application goes the BGC and then passport request? so maybe my application is going to be approved or I am wrong?

IRCC may not yet have received information about your nomination being withdrawn by OINP but they will sooner or later. You are a long way of getting passport request because it will take 3 to 6 months after MR. But presumably, you will get an email from IRCC about your application.
