Okay and any idea how long the SIN number will take to come after applying?and can we also apply for health card?
Usually the SIN is generated at the office while you're there and you get a piece of paper with the number.

Health coverage varies from province to province. In b.c there is a wait- period of 2 months from when I received status before im covered.

You have to look it up online for your province. You can pay for private insurance in the meantime

you can apply for health card and it will expire once the work visa expires... so tecnicaly you get it only for 2 years for SIN number you will get a temp SIN number which starts with 9 which is also valid only for 2 years then once you get your PR you need to apply for permanent SIN# which start with 6

well some employers doesn't want to hire her since she is on open work visa i think the only job you can get is either work at a store or a small office kind of job. They are asking for PR and she doesn't even get help from new immigrant service since that service is only for PR holder which sucks
She doesn't even have to mention that she is waiting for PR because she has a valid SIN. I can see if it is a position that is longterm and you can't see the future for immigrants. She should be treated as any individual.

I didn't even tell some employers that I was an immigrant because that's like race or gender shouldn't affect employment. You are authorized to work in whatever you want, minus the restrictions.

Well not sure this just here or other provinces they ask is your SIN number starting with 9 or 6 they also asked how long is the work visa valid for when she replies for all their questions then they wont call her further for interviews or wont even respond to her emails.. one employer even said they cannot hire temporary residents i never had this issue when i was on work visa

That’s ridiculous, she have permission to work in Canada don’t know why companies & agencies do that.i hope she get job maybe try in warehouse or distribution centres
I understand if you applying for provisional government job or federal job you need to be PR or citizen but i even for a customer service job at a local company you need PR is ridiculous

You are allowed to leave Canada during your inland application.

You must meet all requirements to be allowed back into Canada.

No where does it say you aren't allowed to leave. Obviously dont go for more than 2 weeks as they will ask why are you leaving.

I have not seen of anyone having issues returning to Canada. The OWP is just another document solidifying your intents and your story.

No one can guarantee that you will 110% be let back in but it is different for everyone
Thank you!!!

“Approval In Principle” — they’ve determined that you meet the eligibility requirements. It’s separate from the medical and background check requirements. For spousal applications it means they’ve decided your relationship is genuine and that you’re allowed PR pending checks for any medical or criminal problems.
