Hi,
Long post alert.
I am new to this forum. Hope somebody can help. I applied PR under Canadian experience class. Here is my timeline:
PR submitted: 29 march 2018
applied bridge open work permit: 29 mar 2018. Received and valid from 5th may 2018 to 5th May 2019. reapplied again as I have not received my PR yet.
Got married: 10th April 2018. Change in status. received my marriage certificate: 8 May 2018. Updated CIC regarding change in status.
They didn't respond back. followed thrice.
finally they replied on Oct 18, 2018 :( forwarded details of my spouse PR file.
Now twist in the tale:
When i came as a student to Canada, I applied for my student permit and PGWP from my old email ID which I do not use at all. I did not even mention my old email ID in PR application. Month of November 2018, while revisiting my old email (the one I applied student visa with) to get some old document, to my surprise I got an email from CIC regarding landing. And well well well, not just one but 2 emails regarding landing (one in July and another in Oct). I obviously missed those emails because I haven't used my old email from past 3-4 years. They simply ignored the fact that I have asked to change my marital status.
Fast forward, received AOR regarding PR fee for spouse Dec 27, 2018. All documents forwarded as per CIC request. Medical, PCC, IELTS everything is submitted for spouse and have received confirmation from cic as well.
I received a request to submit wife birth certificate. Submitted and received confirmation on 6th Feb 2019.
I have to reapply for bridge permit since in two months my bridge permit will expire.
can somebody please advice what can I do. I have requested for GCMS notes as well. Already applied TRV twice for spouse, both times rejected. I am scared to apply for third time and my marriage anniversary is close as well. This is hurting me a lot. This has been a source of constant mental stress for me, my wife and in-laws. i would really appreciate if somebody can give me a shoulder to cry upon :( or share the pain I am going through. Any advice/comments are welcomed and appreciated.

I hear you! Believe me, I understand what you are going through. Though my case was not quite the same, the wait can be agonizingly painful.

1) Okay, first things first - get your GCMS notes and go through it. Check the admissibilities section and let us know how the 'Security' section looks like.

2) Call IRCC and ask them for the status. 9/10 times, all you'll hear is 'Your application is in progress and that is all the information I have'. However, there is a miniscule non-zero chance that you might get an agent who is a little more helpful than that. Be polite and respectful.

3) It is weird that IRCC is using your old email to communicate. What email do you currently have on your myCIC account? If it is the old email, change it to the new one.

4) You couldn't have got your COPR and PR visa (if applicable) and 'landed' anyway because at the time they ask you to send your passport/bio page copy (it is called a PPR or Passport Request), you must tell them if your status has changed. Now that you've done that, you and your spouse can 'land' as a PR together after you get your PPR .

5) Since you are in Canada, you could probably ask your MP to intervene in this case but I'm not sure if it is going to have to significant effect but there is no harm in trying.

I wish you good luck and all the very best!

Hi All ,
would appreciate your reply.
I got married on 15th March, informed CIC n submitted documents on 8th april. I was never asked to submit passport and COPR for cancellation. I got a new PPR email on 23rd April. Is this PPR email for new COPR or is it for cancellation of old COPR. the timeline kindoff is making me doubt what this mail actually means. The mail is the standard PPR email and doesnt mention about cancellation of old COPR anywhere. Please help !

Good Day Everyone,

I must say that I have received a lot of information from this forum and it has been very helpful and relieving.

However, my major concern is that my CoPR & Visa will expire on the 20/7/2019 and my LVO is yet to reply which I can get a reissue and that of wife visa before this day.

My question for those who has passed this stage;

1. What happens if my Visa expires?

2. What happens if my visa expires without reissue?

3. What happens now I have informed my LVO earlier, also submitted document and information required for adding my wife to application and my visa expired in this process.

Please I need a reply on this case.

Hi All , I m from India and I got my COPR in Nov 2018 , have to land by July 2019. Planning to get married next month. Would I be asked to go for Bio-metrics in case I add my wife after COPR ( bio metrics is mandatory for indians from 1st jan 19) .
1]Will this coz delays in getting the re-issued COPR ?
2]whats the current average time of processing if I add my wife after COPR but before landing.
3] I can delay the wedding if needed , should I land 1st and go through the sponsorship route. ( my wife doesn't plan to work in canada immediately )

TIA.
Hi,
I am in the same boat. Anyone please reply. It will be helpful.

Hi Shifu, my PR visa was valid till Oct 27, 2018, I dint land, got married and submitted my spouse documentation by July 30 2018. Medicals passed by Aug 2, 2018. But after that till now, my application is still under process. My visa also expired. I dint get any communication from CIC to submit PR & COPR for cancellation. It is still with me only. I think only after getting new PPR mail for myself and my spouse, they will cancel and re-issue new PR & COPR for both of us. I sent mail through web form but they said my application is still under process. I dint order any GCMS notes yet. Will wait another month and see.
Hey, How much time does CIC takes after medical to issue COPR passport request. If medical was passed on 2nd August, when did you receive the request to submit passport.?
