The instruction in the form is as clearly stated below......

List all trip you, and if applicable, your family members have taken outside your country of origin or residence in the last years(or since your 18th birthday if this was less then 10 year ago.)

a) You
b) Your spouse or common-law partner

Family members in IRCC context refer to you the PA, your spouse or common-law partner, and any PA or spouse dependants (i.e., children).

2.A ......should be trips by PA (i.e., person been sponsored)
2.B ......should be trips by Sponsor (i.e., PA spouse or common-law partner)

You need all travels outside your county of origin or country of residence.

1.) If you are in your country of origin list all trips you have taken outside your country of origin.
2.) if your country of residence is other than your country of origin list all trips you have taken outside that country, even to your country of origin.

Yes.......a sponsor who is a Canadian citizen living in Canada should to fill out part B of the form

The sponsor who is a Canadian citizen residing in Canada should list all trips taken out of Canada.

Hi.. In my case, I am the sponsor , PR of Canada (Citizen of India) . So My spouse would be filling travel details of mine .

So what would be country of origin in my case.. would it be Canada... Or India.

For example, I came to Canada as PR in 2017. and in 2018 went to India for marriage...
So
in my details...destination country has to be canada...
Or India...

Thanks

I am currently applying for my wife PR. My country of residence changed multiple times in the 10 years. Should i also mention those trips or only the ones outside my current country of residence which is Canada?

After I got my PR in Canada, I moved back to my then-country of residence (USA) for a year before I came back to Canada permanently. In that case is my country of residence (after becoming PR) Canada or USA? That will determine which countries I add in 5562 form.

I think, this is depending on the days you lived in USA and Canada. If you lived 183(or 180 - please verify for exact source) days in a tax filing year in USA then you are deemed as a resident of USA from tax perspective.

Information from another website: https://www.canpakspousal.com/home/forms/imm-5562

Does a sponsor who is a Canadian citizen living in Canada have to fill out part B of form IMM5562? NO

Some forms are generic and are used for other immigration streams where couples are immigrating together. That's why [N/A] boxes are placed there. If both Sponsor and Principal Applicant's information are required in forms, they would place that form under "BOTH SPONSOR & PRINCIPAL APPLICANT".

In Document Checklist IMM 5533, IMM 5562 and IMM 5536 are ONLY included under PA's forms list, not Both. Therefore, it must ONLY be filled by PA and only PA's information is required.

For Spousal Sponsorship purpose, Spouse is primarily considered as "SPONSOR".

Principal Applicant's forms must ONLY include those who are also accompanying him/her as Dependent (not as sponsor). For application purposes, your Canadian citizen/PR spouse is not your "spouse", they are only the sponsor and they do not fill out any PA forms. These forms are generic for all streams of immigration, so they are not referring to Canadian spousal sponsors, they are referring to spouses of applicants applying through another stream (parent, skilled worker, EE, etc). IRCC already have travel history of Citizens / PR.

If you still have desire/urge to fill your Canadian Sponsor's details on PA's supplementary forms, there's no harm in doing that. However, No file was refused/returned in both cases.

It's very clear as you said, a sponsor doesn't have to answer. I'm Canadian citizen and I didn't.

For anyone looking for the reason this does not to be filled out from the official IRCC website (not third-party websites). Note that I cannot provide a direct link to the text because it's generated depending on country (as not all applicants have to provide this), and unfortunately the clear and simple text is not on the form itself.

-Go to the sponsoring your spouse page - https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp

-Select type of sponsorship, citizenship of applicant, countries from which documents will be needed (often / usually the same as the citizenship of applicant.

-Scroll down to the section showing and providing the link for IMM5562.

-You will see that the text reads: "The principal applicant and all family members included in the application who are 18 years of age or older must complete this form."

-
The key part being 'all family members included in the application.' If you compare to the main application form IMM0008, that form makes it clear that family members (spouse and dependents) who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents are NOT included in the form as applicants. And of course, the sponsor MUST be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and therefore does not need to provide travel history.

Therefore in the context of the application package under family class/spousal, it is entirely clear that the sponsoring spouse does not need to provide travel history. (Note these fields may be needed for other immigration programs or family configuration - that's likely why this form has those fields, it simply doesn't apply to this case)

Note, however, I'm not a lawyer, and if anyone disagrees or wishes to simply provide travel history of the sponsor with their package, by all means, it probably won't hurt. But to me this is perfectly clear (and this is the way we submitted with no issues so far). YMMV.
