Hello, I would like to know what the progress of your application is to date because ( http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/QuickSearch.aspx?ver=11&val65=4212 ) it states that for NOC 4212, previous work experience in social service may replace formal education requirements and 'Social Service Workers' may be required (note not mandatory) to be a member of a provincial regulatory body. However, in Canada, Saskatchewan is not listed as a province requiring mandatory licensing/registration for 'Social Workers'- which is 'NOC 4152' and this group is specifically stated as excempt from the NOC 4212 category.

Exclusions from NOC 4212:

Employment requirements for 4212
  • Completion of a college or university program in social work, child and youth care, psychology or other social science or health-related discipline is usually required.
  • Previous work experience in a social service environment as a volunteer or in a support capacity may replace formal education requirements for some occupations in this unit group.
  • Social service workers may be required to be a member of a provincial regulatory body in some provinces.

Registration with a provincial governing body is mandatory to practise as a social worker in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and Alberta. (http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/QuickSearch.aspx?ver=11&val65=4212 )
Note that Saskatchewan is not listed in the statement above; please verify in link.

Hello everyone,
I am planning to create EOI profile when my ECA is ready on 10th of May. I am not sure of which occupation I should claim as I am qualified for 2 occupations with NOC 0423- Manager in community and social service and NOC 4212. I am currently awaiting CASW for my master of social work degree assessment. Thanks in anticipation for your response.

Hello everyone, hope you all are staying safe.currently I am working in an UN agency as volunteer coordination. its a national officer position. I have around 10 years experience in development agencies in advocacy and social mobilization area. I have Masters in economics which is a social science subject. I want to select 4212 NOC for EE and SINP. other social worker related NOC 0423 or 4125 seems much specialized sector. Can anyone suggest me if i am on the right track?

Hi Sajid. Many thanks for your reply. in employment it said social science degree is also acceptable. Economics is a social science degree. and also my my full career is in development field and genuinely matches with the JD. what should i do now!
p.s: if i rewrite my JD a bit, it could be matched with 1123 also, as i did communication related work also. it is in the SINP occupation list, but it was never pulled in any draw. :(
Did they accept your application?

Yes Paula my application is accepted having experience in community health with qualification in public health .ircc mentioned

  • Completion of a college or university program in social work, child and youth care, psychology or other social science or health-related discipline is usually required.

so i think what u believe is not true , and i have seen some people they are refused even they are accepeted in draw but after detail application submission was refused due to mismatch experience with qualification.what is your score ? and are u thinking through EE or EOI .

Hi Sajid
My whole.experience is in advocacy and social mobilization. I worked in different project which led with maternity health, nutrition amd tuberculosis. Currently i am working with child rights and social policy ( UNICEF). Practically none of this job really requires a health science subject or specific social worker degree. Rather in all job advertisement, it clearly said relevant social science degree. Which i clearly have one. I am confused in that point. I created my profile in EE and will submit SINP application through it. Is there a big difference between EE and EOI?
