Correct me if I am wrong but you cant submit a medical unless you get a request/form from the government, no? (Unless you are from a country that requires it beforehand).

I'm sure medicals will come very soon none the less.
Yeah, so if anyone is reading this and applying now, do not quote me on that, double check.
Also does't matter in my case now, since we have already applied without it.

Yeah, there are some people in certain countries that do it beforehand. Otherwise, the government will let you know when a medical is requested (along with a form) and it must be done within that 30 day span. A medical review doctor will not complete your medical without that form. :)

Does anyone have a link to GCKey that consistently works? Whenever I finally get a working link, I can't log in after being gone for a bit.

Hello February 2019 in-land applicants - I am in great need of advice. I sponsored my American common-law partner and the application was marked received on February 13th. It was returned today :-( saying that I didn't submit my 2017 notice of assessment - which I did, it was the second page on the top of the returned application. However, it was double sided and Line 150 was on the backside and highlighted and I'm guessing they didn't bother looking on the other side... FFfffff ugh. So I guess I resubmit with my notice of assessment on two pages, highlighted and bolded.

But more importantly, I have three questions:
1. If the original OWP he was on last year has since expired (end of February 2019), is he still on implied status if the application has been returned to me - i.e., can he continue to legally work? Further, if I resubmit, can I resubmit as an in-land applicant if he now longer has a valid permit for being in Canada?

2. In the letter telling me we've been kicked out of the queue for processing and why, it has confusingly highlighted that they've updated the checklist to make it easier to use and understand. "As of February 14th 2018 you will require this new checklist... which is designated "(06-2018)" in the corner." That IS the checklist I submitted under but NOW on the IRCC website there is a Feb 2019 document checklist and a couple of the forms have been updated. Maybe that's what they are getting at? That I need to resubmit with the 2019 forms and it was a typo (that was highlighted by an IRCC agent... yay govt).

3. Lastly, that same letter says "the schedule A-background/declaration (IMM5669) form and police certificate(s) are required upfront." Well that's not true by my read, even the new 2019 checklist says "if you have lived in Canada for the last six month [which he has]... police certificates for Canada are not required at this time. IRCC will make a request for your Canadian police certificates on your behalf. Check here if this applies to you." ---I checked that and submitted the FBI Identity History Summary that Americans have to submit.

So I have NO idea what to do or resubmit. Please please please help me.. I've called an immigration lawyer as well. Thank you in advance
Hi, we were in a similar situation, we first submitted our application in December, saying that we need to submit our notice of assessment. I had submitted my T1 general instead of notice of assessment, so I resent the application with NoA attached . Did they highlight notice of assessment or letter of employment? For me, both were mentioned in one sentence but notice of assessment was highlighted . Since they had updated the checklist in February, they just mention in the letter , but that’s not the reason for sending back the application. Also did they highlight the police certificate part ? If they’ve not highlighted then you need not worry, they just mention it as precautionary measures. Just look for the points they’ve highlighted, the ones highlighted are the ones missing . Also when you resubmit, check if any form has been updated recently , if yes, it’s better to send updated forms . Also about your question regarding implied status , my husband was on a work permit that was tied to his employer, which expired on December 2018. Since we had applied for open work permit, he was no longer on implied status and had to stop working after December. If your partner was working on OWP, better to call cic and check about implied status . When our application was returned to us, he was out of status , so I paid restoration of status fees too and marked the same on the form. Was your owp application returned too ?

The OWP email managed to get to my consultant today. It's being mailed from Edmonton and I reside in Calgary. Hoping to have it in my hands by the end of this week at the latest!

Any late Feb applicants having success with AoR or OWP?

That's exactly what happened!! Did you get rejected and then resend your application with the NoA? They highlighted the NoA on my letter and the part that indicates the forms need to be the most current ones (they've updated the forms since I submitted). Yes, the OWP was returned with the PR app as well. So what did you do? Your husband stopped working until you restored his status and then...? Do I resubmit the PR and OWP application together like I did before or do I need to restore his status before the OWP? I'm confused about the sequence of resubmitting and really don't want to talk to a blood sucking lawyer.. really appreciate your advice!

I sent in the T1 general but also submitted the letter of employment as per instructions, plus my grant award for over $100k starting April 15, and two signed letters from my contract jobs confirming my salary for the next year moving forward, plus my current employer in government saying I would be staying on after my PhD. I'm defending my PhD TOMORROW (the app was returned yesterday - awesome timing IRCC), so I'm transitioning between jobs (although currently and previously fully employed) and going to be making way more starting now which is when I'm supposed to be proving I can "support him" - just seems ridiculous they'd reject over that considering I provided line 150 as requested. Anyway, rant over. Thanks again!!

Strange. Same for us, Feb 8th applicant. I have checked other months, most inland apps receive medical request withing 2 weeks after AOR. I'm thinking I should have submitted it in advance, it's valid for 1 year anyway. Could have saved us a month or two.

From Jan (Application received Jan 31, 2019 AOR March 19, 2019) just got medical request yesterday (April 8). So I guess it will be soon.

Yes, it got rejected then I resent both the applications again . My husband would have been in implied status if his employer had filed for a work permit extension, but in this case he had to stop working . I had thought since T1 General had line 150 clearly mentioned, that should be fine , I had also submitted my employment letter , payslips, promotion letters , bank statements and even his employment letters and payslips , still it got returned because they either need NoA or proof of income statement which needs to be downloaded from my CRA account. The OWP got returned because we only paid the open work permit holder fees of $100 but missed paying the work permit fees of 155 cad. You need to apply for restoration of status only if your spouse is out of status at present . My spouse became out of status after December, so I refilled imm 5710 with restoration of status checked, and I also paid the additional restoration fee of $200 . I resubmitted both the applications(with NoA, new checklists , updated imm5710 with restoration n restoration fees ), it was received on 13th February, received AOR on March 30, and owp got approved on 2nd April . It sucker that we lost 2 months , but in the end owp got approved pretty fast . Stay strong , stay patient

I would also advice you to send your 2018 NoA too if you’ve filed your taxes , because a colleague of mine got back his application after a year because the latest NoA was not there .

Hello,

Does anyone know what's the option to get in contact with an agent when calling CIC. Every time the call gets disconnected because of a high wating time.

Thanks
