Called the CIC automated line.

Our work permit moved from "Recieved application" to "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements". Sounds like good news to me!

I can't see anything on my GCKey. Only my consultant can. My wife called CIC and obtained her work permit application number (if you ask them about the status of your permit don't be surprised or shocked if they say it will take 4 months to obtain it.. this is false information... we had three different agents say the same line).

Call 1-888-242-2100 and select options 1-1-1-3 then enter your work permit application number (starts with W followed by 9 numbers) . It will then ask for your date of birth.

It said my application was submitted Feb 4th, when I actually submitted it Feb 11th. There is a seven day difference and this is common.

Hopefully all goes well. Mine was just changed to reviewing eligibility this morning but did not change to approved through the phone in the evening.. guessing they shut down early on Saturday. Fingers crossed for Monday

Mine was 'received' on the 8th of February. They have not started reviewing my eligibility yet.

Yeah there is that seven day discrepancy again. Not sure why it does that. I was told that once it goes into "reviewing your eligibility" it guarantees an approval a couple of hours later. The phone system seems behind.

Hello, everyone here. Need some help for my application. Appreciate every comments.

I submitted my application on Feb 11 and have received the AOR on March 28. But I could not link MyCIC account to the paper application after hundreds tries. I called CIC few times, and I know what information to put there. The problem is, on the paper application, I filled my intend place to live as 'Other' since my current place is not on the list. When I try to link to the MyCIC account, there is no "Other" as a option in the dropdown list of city/town intend to live on the website. I guess this is the major issue. I have also sent couple of emails to report the technical difficulty. But they just replied me what information should be used to search my application online, which is I already knew.

I need to link the application to MyCIC is majorly because I need to renew my passport, which will be expire early next year. I am not sure if they take my passport when it's less then 6 month to expire when the PR approved. It may still work if the PR approved in 6 months. But I don't want to take the risk. I planned to renew the passport this month and will get the new passport in April or early May. The question is, how do I communicate with CIC to upload the new passport if I could not link the paper application to MyCIC? If it's by mail, where am I supposed to send to?

When I filled up the paper application, I tried to be honest and accurate by selecting "Other" as my intend living place. But I didn't expect so much inconvenience afterwards. I would have just picked a big city to avoid all the trouble.

Thanks!!!
If you call them and have your receipt number or application number, they can look at your application and advise you on what to do here. There is not that much you can do even, if you do link your CIC account you can basically only look at your application (unless they request more information), you're going to have to talk to the IRCC to discuss if and how you should renew your passport and how you can send them the information they need.

Just a protip for all you waiting on the OWP,

As soon as you see/hear "We are reviewing your eligibility" when you call or are on GCKey, your application *will* be approved within hours or next day.

I did some research on the forums with over 20 different people going through the same thing only to find out they were approved shortly after. There was nobody from my knowledge that did not get approved after they reviewed their eligibility (perhaps it is different for people strictly applying for OWP, it was all sponsorship/owp applications I was researching).
