so, managed to speak to an agent first time if trying...confirmed all medicals, biometrics done etc. But the file is still in Sydney and has yet to be transferred. Still saying it should be processed within the year timeframe, however, I don't know how likely that is if it hasn't reached London yet!...here's to hoping it stays in Canada for processing I guess..

Hey, I also read your post on the Britishexpats forum (good move, there's some very knowledgeable folks out there : ) It's very odd indeed that it's still in Sydney and it def should have moved. It was my initial understanding that those case notes can only be requested from Canada (due to compliance with privacy act) but maybe also possible from outland? On a positive note, I noticed that most applications these days go to Mississauga as they realize London isn't moving at all. So chances are you could still be finished before most August LVO applicants.

Decided to ring again. Also told still in Sydney. Saying background check is complete, but security check isn't which is why it is still in Sydney. Advisor still felt it would be transferred to London as we are outland, but hopefully not. Also he advised still enough time to be completed within the year timeframe, but not not holding much hope to that.

It all sounds very odd to me. Any red flags? I myself have a bit of a crazy travel history, hopefully that won't cause too many issues. I find it hard to believe that your application would still be completed within 1 year timeframe if transferred to LVO, but maybe they know more than we do. Anyway, all the best for you!

If they have decided to put you into ss, which is an extra security check besides your bgc, your going to be a while. Security tries 8 to 12 months by itself

Some not all, but some who have excess of travel history get put into ss. This process takes around 8 months by itself
