Dear fellow aspirants,

I received the letter of interest from Alberta yesterday (NOC 1122 and CRS 419); have also received the various forms and doc checklist to be submitted by me within 30 days.

I have a couple of questions if anyone can shed light on:

1) No job offer - since i don't have a job offer from Alberta; what are the chances of getting the nomination (considering that while sending the interest letter they must have noticed about my job offer status in the first place)

2) Lack of reference letter from current organization - don't want to jeopardize my current job by asking for a reference letter from my company for PR. Instead i have procured a letter that addresses an educational institute and details my job duties, title, duration etc. on the company letter head. It does not include the salary. Can i submit this as an alternative document along with supplementary documents such as offer letter, payslips etc. as an evidence of my current salary, alongwith a letter of explanation?

Many thanks in advance; in anticipation of a reply.

I am having difficulty in getting the reference letter of my last place of employment before my current job and I know they wont put my pay scale in the letter. It's been a struggle. I hope they get in contact with you sooner than ever to say they are giving you a nomination. So it is in time for the next draw. Fingers crossed for you

One more question - I have been searching for Alberta on internet and I could see Calgary and Edmonton both have high crime rate. Homicide is also growing. Is it really safe to be there? And recently, it has been declared that Calgary has the highest unemployment rate. What do you all have in mind - the people who have applied for AINP and all others who are in process ( like my friend) ? Because she and me both are confused now after seeing this crime statistics, that should we apply or not.
I lived in Edmonton for 3.5 years and other 0.5 years back and forth NB. It still safe enough if you compare to Regina. But yes, unemployed rate is pretty high right now because AB relies on Transmountain Pipeline. Even myself graduated there, it toughs to get a full-time job. I have to get a job in different province. Most of my friends get seasoning job in big companies. If they don't have work coming, they just end the contract right away which they already did. AB gotta have election this month (April) hopefully everything getting better soon.

Hi Jeet,
I have received my NOI last week, same as your NOC, i have been processing my application through consultancy. To answer your question, see response below
1. There is no mandatory that the job offer is required, if you have, chances will be more to get nominated with less time
2. Reference letters are not given by the companies in India, you can submit the offer letters, payslip, relieving letter and a self declaration stating the job roles and responsibilities and no of hours worked. This will suffice the requirement that is mandated in the checklist

Thanks man....am also working with the consultancy (Abhinav), they are saying that its mandated to get the reference letter from the current employer else I may not get nominated....however i am of an opinion that if we provide Offer letter, Payslip, increment letter, linkedin profile, a note describing my roles and responsibilities from a colleague of mine on a plain paper (not on letter head) along with the Letter of explanation...it should suffice...What say?

I am not sure about you giving in the plain paper, i have given affidavit in the stamp paper and got attested by the notary. The checklist from alberta doesn't state its mandatory to give from the current employer

Yes it’s the email in your EE profile, you copy and paste it from your EE profile into your mail and then send it. Don’t forget to type your EE profile number too.
