I am in the same boat as you, My application is on April 29 and I was talking to the 1800 number today and they told me to wait and that my papers are ok I just have to wait to do the test and just to let you guys know my office in Mississauga.

Maximum wait time is 12 months , so did not send any email and response from their side
Just a note that there is no such thing as maximum wait time ...

Rescheduling will put you back to the queue which can take a while. They will not let you pick the date since there are a lot of people waiting for oath invite and they also try to clear the backlog. I understand your wish to have your parents there with you. You can get this last step done first and then show them pictures of the ceremony so they can share the joy with you. Oath schedule is hard to come by.
Why don't you try to re-schedule your parents' flight instead if that is an option? It's just my personal opinion...
Hello friend, I thought I should give you an update that my oath ceremony has been rescheduled and the rescheduling process went verysmoothly.

Now I am so glad that my parent's going to be a part of it and they will be witness of the greatest achievement of my life.

Thank you!

This is for everyone or for those who would like to reschedule their oath ceremony and have no idea how does it work.

Simply write an appropriate reason that why you like to reschedule your oath ceremony. You can email that request to them and that email address you can find in the same email you received for your oath ceremony( I sent at
cic-calgary-citizenship@cic.gc.ca)
. You can also send them reschedule request by mail. I did both and I got quick reply from them by email and they confirmed me that they have placed me in reschedule queue. Today I got my reschedule oath ceremony date.

Below is the timeline shows how long it took for me to reschedule my oath:

-Original oath ceremony invitation email received on January 25, 2019 to appear for an oath on March 5, 2019 in Calgary.

-Sent request to reschedule oath by email and mail on January 26.

-Received rescheduled oath ceremony invitation email on March 29 to appear for an oath on May 10, 2019 Calgary.

Kindly please update my timeline.

Thank you!

Congrats @raman69 :)

Look like it'll take about 3-4 months for the rescheduling process. It's great for those who have the time and no travel plan. I am just curious, did they get back to you before Mar 5 to say they would reschedule you or you simply did not show up for the ceremony. If that was the case, I would be so nervous to "miss" it.

But I am glad your parent was able to join you for this eventful occasion. My parent was unable to come to mine but I am one of those who just want to become Canadian as soon as I can ;D

Hi, thank you for your message.

They got back to me on Jan 28 and advised about rescheduling my oath ceremony date.

Hello,

I am filling up the form for my son for Canada Citizenship and I do have a question regarding Question 9 D.

My son passport was expired after coming to Canada (Expired in Mid July). And we didn't realize for almost 5 months. We renewed his passport (End of January). Do I need to provide an explanation for this? What explanation should I provide? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question 9D

Check the box to indicate if there are any gaps in time in the validity period of the child’s passports or travel documents for the relevant period. If there are gaps between the validity of any passports or travel documents, explain why in the space provided.
