hi guys, i am applying for visa extension for my mom. she has multiple entry visa, first time extending, her 6 M from entry expires in April, wants to stay until Nov 2019. now doing form IM5708. stuck on some questions:
  • question 7 under personal details where it asks: "current country or territory of residence" under From/To I put the date entered in Canada under "from" but should I put 6 month from entry under to or I should put today's date?
  • under "Coming into Canada" section for Q2: do I put "from" the date end of 6M from entry or from today?
Thanks

I am in a similar situation, the email says medicals to be complete 30 days on receiving the email, however my mother plans to leave 10 days prior to the last day of the extended stay and this would be 10 days after she completes 30 days on receiving the email so was wondering if doing the medicals can be avoided as its an additional cost. any suggestions.

an example below
email received on 1st January
30 days would be 30 January
she leaves on 20 January

can she leave without medicals on 20 January ???
Hi Dominica,
Can you please confirm if you guys provided them the medical or not?As i am in the same situation. Please do reply back to me.
Thanks!

Hi All,

I hope anyone can help me out:

So my Mon is here on a visitors visa. she arrived on August 2018, after almost 6 months we applied to extend her stay and we got a visitor record approval until January 2020. my question is: can I ask for a second extend? We just sent the application for her permanent residency with me as her sponsor and would like to wait at least a little bit longer from Canada, I appreciate your comments/experiences

Thank you,

You can ask. No guarantee of approval.

Thanks for your answer. Do you know someone that has done it? I was looking to also get personal experiences. I appreciate your help
Many have. There is no limit on extensions. IRCC must be satisfied the person is still genuinely a visitor and has sufficient funds. After a few extensions, expect a refusal.

I dont tell people they dont need to do the medical. It happened to me and to 3 other friends. We didnt send the medical and nothing happened. We asked for another extension and then we had to send the medical at first place with all the priorities documents. I ALWAYS tell people to call cic and confirm.
In this case in particular he asked if she needed to send once she is returning to her country before her 6th month. I don't see the need to send it and I would call cic just to be sure. Everyone else who I know and didnt sent it after they approved, didnt have any problem.

It is a public forum based on personal experiences as well. If someone here wants to be sure, access cic website or call them.. or ask people for official information.

Please share the official information which states that we have problems if we dont send the medical exam after they approve the app extending the stay as a visitor. Thanks!
Hi,
I am in same situation and not sure whether I need to get medicals done for my mother or not. Please advise.
