please can a post dated document be use to support a claim?

The case was reported to the home country police station in Sept 2016, and He wants to use the police report to back the claim, He called home to see if he can get a document showing he reported the suitation back then in sept 2016

He got the police report from back home 3days dated sept 2016 both on top of the letter and in the body of the letter

My question is it a problem or the date should have read a current date like March13th 2019 when he got the report and the body of the report showing when it was reported sept 2016

sorry I meant to say backdated , the report had a backdated date —same as when the incident was report ... would that be a problem
