Hello,

My brother has processed his application for EOI- MPNP. As we live outside Winnipeg, he qualifies for 50 points under Regional Community. I have two concerns here:

First, we live on rent. We do not have our own house yet. Hope it is ok?
Second, because he chose 'destination to reach'- outside Winnipeg in his EOI application, does he need to live outside Winnipeg for 3 years once he gets his PR or he can live any where in MB?

The reason I am asking so that accordingly we can buy our first house. Hope to hear soon from you.

Thank you

It is really important for anybody who submit MPNP EOI that his/her supporter should be physically present at the destination (Whether Winnipeg or outside).
Regarding your question, the sponsor who get nomination through MPNP is required to live in the destination (mentioned in his/her EOI) for atleast 2 years. This is usually noted by MPNP officer in approval notes. (This may be verified at the time of citizenship to count the period towards citizenship application).

If you want to buy a house, it will be considered a strong step towards settlement and will ease the application of person being sponsored. It is recommended but not a mandatory condition to buy a house.
