Hi ,

I got request from IRCC to go for biometrics in near by USCIS, so I called to USCIS to schedule an appointment, after 1 hour of waiting they told me that there is no appointment required for Biometrics and it is just first come first serve basis.

my question is any one went for biometrics in USCIS before, can we go get the Biometrics done without appointment?

Thanks in advance.

I went to USCIS and done gave biometrics today. no appointment required for PR Biometrics. no queue, it took just 10 mins to complete.

now question in mind is : I believe no need to upload any proof of Biometrics from our side is my understanding, but usually how long it will take to change the status to Biometrics received in the application as USCIS directly sends this biometrics to IRCC?

I just got the Biometrics Instruction Letter from IRCC. I am currently residing/working in the USA on H1-B visa. The Biometric service locator page in the link in the letter says you can take fingerprints at USCIS if you are legally present in the USA. So, did you also need to show proof of legal presence in USA to get the fingerprints taken at USCIS? Can you give a summary of what all documents you needed to show for taking fingerprints? Thank you.

Just your passport and biometrics request letter from IRCC... thats it. If possible take you H1 proofs as well additionally.

Hi,

I am required to go for biometrics for my Canada Work Permit. I see that you went for your PR biometrics, will the process ne same for WP also? When I check in the USCIS ASC site it says by 'Appointment Only'. Can I still walk in and check if I can give biometrics? I was thinking of raising emergency biometrics appointment to go early, any one has done that?

Any information will be helpful.

There won’t be any difference for biometrics for WP and PR i believe strongly. Biometrics centers in US will be less crowded and you can finish it in within 15 mins with direct walk-in. No appointment required.

Thank you for the response. When I check in the http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/where-to-give-biometrics.asp it says we can do the biometrics by appointment only. So thinking whether I can walk in. When you went on, did it allow walk in also?
