Sponsor Child under Inland Category

I am a new PR with a job in Canada. My wife and daughter were non accompanying members when I had applied for PR. Now they are currently in Canada visiting me on a TRV. My question is, can i apply to sponsor their PR under Inland Category. I think I can sponsor my wife under inland but not sure whether I can do the same for my child. If not, then i will apply under outland category for both.

I could not find any official documentation saying child cannot be sponsored under inland. If somebody could advise and send me the link, it would be really helpful.

if they are currently living with you inside Canada......submit inland spousal sponsorship + OWP application and include your daughter as a dependent child in the inland sponsorship application......later apply for TRV extension so your spouse and daughter remain in status......until the OWP is approved.......the OWP will not be approved if the applicant is out-of-status.......if OWP is approved your spouse and daughter could live inside Canada until the PR visa is approved.

thanks so much for the quick reply. in case of an inland application, for their medicals, will they have to go to the country of residence from where they had flown to canada on a visit visa or they can do their medicals here in canada ?

i am assuming TRV extension chances are low. if OWP does not come before the initial TRV expires, can they leave the country and wait for their PR approval in their home country or is the PR application cancelled if they leave the country because we are applying under inland category.

I know they cannot re-enter but can they sit it out until PR comes through in the home country or will the PR application be cancelled because they left Canada.

they can do medical inside Canada.......when you need to submit the inland sponsorship + OWP....ensure the forms are correctly filled, properly signed and dated, all the required documents according to the checklist is submitted, and pay all fees (sponsorship fees $1040 + $150 + OWP fees $255 + biometrics fees $170).....as you don't want your package to be returned.......submit the inland + OWP when your spouse and child have visitor status, and then apply for visitor visa extension 1 month before the expiration of the visitor visa.......it takes time for the visa extension to be approved and until the extension is approved the applicant has implied status....OWP is usually approved within 4 months and if approved your spouse could legally remain in Canada until PR is approved.......for inland sponsorship the applicant has to be living with the sponsor inside Canada when the application is submitted and until its approved......note: the inland sponsorship will be processed regardless of applicant status but the OWP will not be approved if applicant is out-of-status
