Hi,
I will be landing in Toronto in about 2 weeks and I am wondering about the OHIP waiting period.
I did a soft landing in october 2018. In february, I will be landing permanently.
But, I will be living in an Airbnb until I find a place to rent. And I will have no job until I find one.
So, I don't know when I will be able to provide the second required document when applying to OHIP, the one they call "Proof of Residency in Ontario".
After reading threads on this forum, I understand that I will have to wait 3 months to become eligible for OHIP.
So I know that I have to find a private health insurance (any recommandation is welcomed) to be covered during this waiting period.
But, my question is, does the waiting period starts when you land in Toronto, or, does it starts when you are able to provide the "Proof of Residency in Ontario" document?
If it starts when you land, then how do you prove your landing date? Is the e-bording pass good enough?
Thanks.
