Hey guys! My husband and I received our stamped passports and COPR back! While applying for the PR, my husband selected multiple provinces as options for landing. Upon receiving our COPRs today, we saw that the destination province is Alberta and City is Calgary. However, we are now set on landing and settling in Toronto. Are we required to land in Calgary as mentioned in our COPR or are we free to land anywhere in Canada except Quebec?

You can land anywhere. Everyone does it all the time.

I think these CSEs are useless. According to my conversation with a call center agent on the 27 of November my file was approved on the 13 of November. Since then I've raised 2 CSEs and both times I got a response saying my application is in progress. Same office, same application but different responses is not at all professional! I am still waiting to get my PPR email. I'll hit 7 months in a week and I'm being made to wait for an application that was approved more than 2 months ago.
Please write the call center number?

Planning for Canada sessions are must attend for every immigrant. They can be attended after obtaining PPR e-mail.
Please attend them few months (around 2 months) before your departure. These are pre-arrival services provided, "at no charge".

Please register using the link: https://2register.planningforcanada.ca/register/index.php
You will be asked to provide a copy of your PPR e-mail.

The reviews on these sessions can be read on the FB page: https://www.facebook.com/PlanningforCanadaIndiaCIIP/

I believe, many applicants are unaware of this, hence they do not attend these sessions.
Please share it and spread it to as many as possible PPR candidates

Tornotu=o has no special vibe... and Old iT companies.. hehehe...new ones are stretching out and big organizations are not even setup in cities... they are in places like regina etc etc
The only thing not to like about Toronto is the prices. 134$ for TTC alone is way too much when you factor in other expenses you have to spend every month.

Have you moved from Toronto to Regina ? Better prices or just better jobs ?

It's a little bit too late for us as we're moving in a few days. We're more interested in after-arrival services I guess, especially help in finding an accommodation.

Has anyone experienced rude security/customs/CBSA officers at Pearson ?

I've been reading Pearson's reviews on google and they all seem to have the same complaints in common.

Anyone has had such an experience ?

A little bit too bad to be true.

not to mention the rents in GTA! the price you can get a studio basement in GTA, you can get a nice modern condo apartment with all amenities in some place like Regina...oh and car insurance for first time drivers in some parts of GTA are really high as well!

There are many postings on the forum of people landing in Toronto airport. Haven’t seen anything alarming in those posts. Sometimes people do complain that agents were not friendly but didn’t see any post where agents gave a hard time on doing something that was required.

As a Pakistani with Muhammad in my name...I am always selected for a 'random' security check in every country I go too...and honestly even though they haven't given me a visa to allow my family to come the best experience at an airport is at Pearson...people are really nice here...

That's what we want to think. Even when Canadians are rude, they're still nice I would say.

That's very nice to hear. The "random" isn't random, but as long as it's done professionally and with respect, it should be fine.

Have you been in Canada for long ?
