Hi everyone,

My wife will soon apply for her citizenship. She moved here early 2016. According to the application requirements, she needs to submit a police certificate from any country where she's resided in over the past 4 years, so she has to submit a police certificate from Dubai with her package.

Q1) Does she need a Dubai police certificate or UAE police certificate?
Q2) I've read a few threads on Duabi police certificate and a few are suggesting to use their quick and easy online service. I read over the form on their website and they're asking for Emirates ID number. She had surrendered her ID when she left. We looked through her old docs and found a form with her ID number on it. She doesn't remember if she always had the same ID number or with every change of job/sponsor, the number had changed as well. the copy we found dates back to her second last job in Dubai. Is the ID number always constant or does it change?
Q3) Am i correct assume that if we use her emirates ID number , there won't be a need for notarised fingerprints?
Q4) I believe Dubai police EMAILS the good conduct police certificate. Does a printed version good enough to include in her citizenship application package?

thanks alot,

Quoting below from CIC instruction guide

"Example 1
You lived in France for one year (365 days) before you became a permanent resident 3 years ago. You did not travel to France after you became a permanent resident. You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from France if you did not provide one with your immigration application. If you provided a police certificate from France with your immigration application, tell us this in the box provided at Question 10b."

So if ur wife did not go back once she came to canada and provided PC from dubai for her PR application plz follow this example

There is no specific UAE police Certificate. Either Abu Dhabi or Dubai Police certificate will be sufficient.

Q2) I've read a few threads on Duabi police certificate and a few are suggesting to use their quick and easy online service. I read over the form on their website and they're asking for Emirates ID number. She had surrendered her ID when she left. We looked through her old docs and found a form with her ID number on it. I am not sure if the ID number changes with each job or not. Your best bet is to input the ID number you have in Dubai police certificate system and see what for dates the PCC will be issued.

Q3) Am i correct assume that if we use her emirates ID number , there won't be a need for notarised fingerprints?

Emirates ID issued after 2013 dont required fingerprints as fingerprints were taken at the time of registration.

Q4) I believe Dubai police EMAILS the good conduct police certificate. Does a printed version good enough to include in her citizenship application package?

Printed version is good enough

thanks alot,

You can apply from the Dubai police website. You don’t need to provide Emirates ID number. Select the option Do you have an Emirates ID. Select “NO”

Enter other details.
Attach photo
Attach Passport copy
Attach Visa copy

Pay the amount with Canadian Credit Card and you will receive the PC certificate in the email.

Note: Website says that only GCC cards are accepted for payment. I paid with my Canadian Visa card and payment went through.

Good Luck!

I have already applied and submitted my application which is received today. Before my PR and landing in Canada, I was in Dubai for 1 year.
