Hi every,

I am urgently need your help. I have the asylum case pending in the US and I am now a permanent resident in Canada, I would like to travel back to my home country for a family emergency because I am not fearing any persecution anymore. I do not have my Permanent resident Card yet. I would like to know if my asylum case can't be a problem in my Permanent Resident Travel Document application?

Thank you !!

On what basis did you obtain PR in Canada?

I obtained my PR through my wif. She sponsored me
Obvious what I am saying is not a substitute or even close to what a professional lawyer or consultant can advise you. However, your permanent residency obtained through your wife does not restrict you from travelling to your home country.

Only if you had obtained PR through asylum in Canada. Can immigration officers upon their discretion initiate a formal review to revoke your Permanent residence status. Feel free to travel. Make you that you do not lose your PR card when traveling since that can delay your return to Canada.
