Yes it could be but right the delay doesn't seem to be because of that. There are many people who have no travel history, work documents as per IRCC norms and duly acknowledged in GCMS Notes by Case Analysts, only one home country PCC, people working in Canada since last few years on work permit etc.

To me it looks like transitional losses between agents especially when files are moved from one VO to another (in particular for workload redistribution).

Having said that, there is nothing one can do to expedite the process but can try to occasionally drop reminder by way of calls, CSE, Mail etc, keep up the patience and hope. :)

True i second that it also depends on luck , sometimes your file might end up with an Officer who works fast and updates everything accordingly . where as some Officers will not update the online status neither will try to finish the work soon ( can be various reasons )

Calling them or raising a webform looks like a good way to keep them reminding about your application but i doubt the case will move forward if we do this ( i may be wrong ) .

my AOR is june 1 and medicals passed 12 june 2018 and i have not see a single update in my profile until 18th jan 2019 ( i have not contacted them regarding my case )

@Explorer77 sorry I might have missed one of your posts, when was your background verification completed? How did you get to know it?

I am asking because the response to my CSE last week was also "The background verifications are currently being reviewed" so I thought it might be different from "The background verifications are currently in process".

Indeed, according to a post from @legalfalcon in the thread "The anatomy of a background check" where he/she explains that after completing security checks, CSIS sends result to CIC who then review them to make a decision. Explaining, maybe (at least this is what I like to think), our response about background verifications being reviewed and not "in process" anymore.

Any thoughts?
Basis my last conversation with IRCC, security check is a part of background verification. My security check hasn't started yet and therefore my background verification is not finished yet. I want to know whether the file is stuck with IRCC or CBSA for my security check. Don't know since when my file is pending to be checked by the required officer. (I would be completing 3 months since the 'Background check' status has been updated on MyCIC account!)

Once my security will be cleared, the file will be sent to IRCC where the officer will conduct a final review before triggering the PPR mail.

Hey,

I got the same response from a CSE reply dated 11-01-2019

  • Your application was received at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on August 6, 2018.
  • The initial assessment to ensure your application is complete has been finalized on August 27, 2018. Following this assessment, your application was transferred to the Case Processing Center in Ottawa, Ontario. The office will contact you if they need other documents from you.
  • The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements under the class for which you have applied. You can expect to be contacted if additional information is necessary.

  • The background verifications are currently being reviewed.
  • Your medical examination results on file are valid.
Although processing times may vary, rest assured that we are committed to finalizing your application within the regular processing time.

I guess this means that our files are in the final review stage by a senior officer before the approval ( somebody on the August thread told me this) , also saying that our security and criminality checks have been completed already.

Hope this helps a little.
I hope this is the last stage. Frankly I have been here since last couple of months, no action has happened in my CIC account.

Hello everyone, sorry for barging into the thread, I'm a Nov AOR.

I just realised that my reference letter from my manager went for two pages and the sign and seal was only in the second page. Would this be a problem that the first page doesn't have a sign and seal?

Please help!
OMG.. How could you miss that? What have you done? ...

If you're having thoughts like above than they are baseless. You're good. Nothing to worry.

To avoid delays raise a CSE and attach the file with both pages. Just explain why you are replacing what you submitted.

I ordered GCMS notes
If you are from China, don't worry. Your application is going to take longer than others as Government of China does not disclose or share a lot of information with Canada, so it might take longer to finalize the criminality and security. However, as long as there is no red flag in your notes, don't worry, it is just the matter of time.

Hi, another invader from a different AOR month here...

Stream: CEC
AOR: July 7, 2018
Medical passed: July 21, 2018
Approved: Dec 19, 2018

My application was moved from Ottawa to CIO Sydney on Dec 13, 2018 before being approved 6 days later. I have still not received the Ready For Visa email, and like many others my COPR seems to be stuck in a printing queue at CIO Sydney.

I have called IRCC many times, and an agent sent a message to CIO Sydney on January 7 (as of January 21 the message remained unacknowledged according to another IRCC agent).

I raised a CSE a few weeks ago only to be blessed with Matthew's generic fuck-you-and-wait response. I've since raised another CSE, and sent emails to Ottawa, CIO and NDVO but I won't get my hopes up...

Finally, a few weeks ago I got in touch with the office of my local MP and asked them to look into the delay for me. The MP's case worker called me up about a week later telling me that they'd been in touch with IRCC and that another reminder has been sent to CIO for which they expect a response within 10 business days.

I'm praying I get some good news in the next few weeks as my application nears the 7-month mark. Hope this helps someone in a similar situation and good luck!
That description of Mathew's response lololo :D
