Urgent - PR card mistakenly send to wrong address

Hi, I have a situation here. I landed in November, 2018. I have to move back to my country and my flight is booked on 25th this month. Since PR card processing was taking time I changed the address to a friend's house. When normal processing time exceeded I contacted IRCC and they confirmed they send it to the address I have given them as a update on January 10th. It never arrived. So I was double checking and found out that I made a mistake in the apartment number. Two digits were interchanged. Rest is okay. Now, the wrong address does not exist, so I am guessing it will be returned to IRCC. I already send them a message about the mistake I made and asked for advice. I am leaving Canada on Jan 25th and now this is happening. Anyone can suggest anything or any ideas what will happen?

Hi, apparently the letters arrive directly at each apartment and the mistaken apartment number does not exist. So I am guessing they probably will send it back to sender. No idea. I already asked whether there is a building manager but none.

Sometimes, postman delivered letters to the wrong address. I received letters of my neighbor and my neighbor got ours!

Okay. But any idea what may happen in this case? Two possibilities:
1. My PR card is delivered to a wrong address in which case it is lost.
2. It will be send back to IRCC
I send them a message through webform about the incident. Since today is weekend, I cannot call them. I will call on Monday. But my flight is on Friday and not sure what is going to happen.

You do not need a PR card to leave the country only to fly back or if you do not have one then a PRTD. Suspect that you may in the end have to report the card as lost and apply again, although you can only apply from within Canada so as and when you decide to return to Canada you will need a PRTD.

Oh okay. Do you know how much time does it take to apply for a lost card? Since I have flight on 25th, if I do have to apply, I want to finish everything before that time. Thanks for the information.

CIC is going to make you wait to see if your card shows up before letting you report it missing. I would prepare new pictures and fill out the oath that your card is lost form and leave it your friend with some money so he can send it in if your PR card doesn't show up.
