You should also have your wife increase ielts score. People have already awared of express entry. An average of 200 with 441 crs entering the pool every day. Also be serious about your age, it will drop 5 point each birthday coming.
Thanks for your reply and suggestion.

Based on all the replies I have received here, and also based on current trend, Yes, I'm planning to get my wife to take IELTS again after training.

My bday just got over on 7th Jan., So no points decrease till next Jan. Wishing for my wife to get all 7s in IELTS to increase my points to close to 450.

Yes if she gets 7 in all parameters then you should be good to go.

Hello,

Age : 34
IELTS : L:8, R:8.5, S:7.5, W:7.5
ECA : Masters

Spouse ECA: AWAITING
Spouse IELTS : L:5.5, R: 5.5, S: 6, W:5.5

I am currently on 432, awaiting my wife's ECA, which should be available BY 28th Jan, post which my CRS goes upto 440.

Can anyone suggest me whether to wait for CRS to come down to 440 or lesser, or should I ask my wife to give IELTS again to increase our points
Bro even I am traveling in the same boat..In my case I made my wife as a primary applicant as she scored 8 in all parameters..I am 36 and she is 34 and I scored 7.5L 6.5 7R and 6.5 in Speaking..Our scores are 441..So all the best to you and pray for us.

Don’t even think of waiting CRS to drop. Let your wife take again. Every birthday, you lose 5 crucial points! You must get ITA before the next birthday.

You have two choices: The difficult one which is you sit again and try to increase listening by 0.5, that would give extra three points. But it is risky as you may miss out on another section. The easier option ( I guess) is let your wife sit for it again and aim to score 6 across speaking, Listening, and writing, but 5-5.5 in reading. Or score 6 in any three and the other less than six. You will end up 444, which is almost guaranteed in the next two draws unless they have three weeks gap draw.

After many unsuccessful attempts, I was finally able to get in the EE pool with a CRS score of 429. This number is considerably lower than the minimum score accepted for the recent draws. I don't know if I should just keep waiting in hopes that the minimum score drops to that level or if I should submit my PNP application in hopes that I get nominated by the province.

I would hate to pay the $1.5k fee if the score ends up dropping, but I'm pressed for time because my PGWP expires on Feb 2020.

Can someone advise on best action to take?
You are worried about $1.5k when your stay in Canada is in question?? Based on last year’s trend, CRS will not even drop below 440 except if a back to back draw happens. So 429 is really low, I am sorry, but at least you are an in-land applicant so you have a great chance in the PNP program. Go for it!!!

Assuming you are talking about OINP - Have you received an NOI from OINP OR Are you planning to apply under the Employer Job Offer category of OINP?

Many folks with CRS in the 430s who received OINP NOIs last year would be hating the fact that they did not pay $1.5K last year when they waited for the cut off scores to drop.

Also, looking at the current trends and the number of applicants stuck in the 430s, it is almost impossible for the cut off to fall down till 429. It has been almost 20 months since anyone with CRS 429 received an ITA.

I got ITA in last draw with CRS 465 with spouse not accompanying. I neither have accepted or declined my ITA. I am thinking to wait a week to check the OINP when they start issuing PNPs for 2019.My CRS with spouse accompanying is 438.

any expert advise on when OINP will start issuing PNPs and possible CRS cutoff?

Am i doing the right thing by waiting? or should i accept the ITA sitting in my account and proceed with the application?

Well, I suggest you wait of for OINP or raise the score through IELTS if there is a room for that. But spouse non-accompanying route just for the sake of getting ITA will lead to trouble in case you fail to convince the VO that you have valid reasons to leave your spouse behind. Marking a spouse non-accompanying just for getting high CRS score will be considered as misrepresentation for sure.

Just think why would thousands of married candidates wait hanging around cut-off score instead of getting ITA instatly by marking spouse as non-accompanying.

You got an ITA and you are not in the pool, you can't be invited by OINP with an invitation because you didn't decline it.

Well, you should accept it then later sponsor your wife. It may take a bit longer but safer.

Go for PNP.

Let me tell you my story: I got 423 for my 1st attempt in Dec.2017, and was hoping the same thing you have now until March 2018 (my PGWP would expire on Aug.31.2018). I improved my score to be 439 for my 6th attempt at the beginning of June 2018, and I thought I was definitely going to get ITA last year so I gave myself a month break to see the cutoff...but it just won’t drop and the lowest is always 440...and then I had re-taken over and over again, like 10 more after that the 6th, but no improved any more...

I was holding the same belief that I won’t choose OINP PNP if I could get EE ITA, but ended up getting none of them before my “Christmas gift” coming. Who knows how wishful I would like to have any of them last year. I also believe that I won’t consult with an agent because I thought the consulting fees could be enough for me to improve my score for sure...And then I was totally wrong: I attempted 17 IELTS with 2 failed EOR and 1 CELPIP in total, and I did sign with an agent to deal with my EE and status in Canada.

My “Christmas gift” was from CIC (or it could be my lucky friend flew to visit and “share” some GL): I was so surprised to see the only weekly draw at the end of 2018, and the lowest cutoff was 439 Feb. something and my profile created time was Jan.25 at 439.

Overall, if $1.5K is not too much for you, don’t think it’s an waste because it can give you an secured ITA. Or if you have a belief that you can increase your score by that $1.5K, then wish you the best.

So with every passing draw, I'm losing hope and looking for other options. Maybe some of the experts here can share some insights.

I'm at crs 429, expecting to go up to 435 within a week as soon as I get my wife's ECA. I'm 40+ and have pretty much maxed out on all the elements of the score chart so I'm not going to increase the score from here.

I'll lose points in September due to age. What are my options (if any)?
