Transfer Money from India to Canada New Comers

Hi everyone,

My parents are moving to Canada on basis of PGP. How should they bring/transfer money to Canada? for example like $100,000. what options do they have? i know you can bring $10,000 cash with you first time. what about rest of $90,000? can they transfer to my account and once they arrive here, they will open bank account and i will transfer their money. I am not sure. your help will be greatly appreciated.

Contact your banker in India and they will guide you to transfer money to your account.Where they stay?

They can bring as much as cash in hand on first time . If you don’t want them to carry too much cash you can get a bank draft payable at Canada for the same . I did it federal bank . They have tie up with a bank in Canada so they will give it their check leaf and once they reach in they can start the account with that draft check .
Option 2 : give them a 10,000 cash check from your account on their name .
Most of the time the immigration person just ask how much u carry . If they ask to show the proof they can use the check .
