Yes, this is what they say but no one knows who rechecks and where since there is no parity on this.

I submitted my EOR today. I had LRWS - 9, 9, 6.5, 7.5. I am remarking Writing and Speaking
The BC receptionist tried to dissuade me from submitting it cos she said my script would have been remarked because of the 2.5 difference between my highest score and the lowest. She said that the possibility of my marks increasing is very low. I told her I was going to give it a shot. I am really hoping it changes.
I was told they will get back to me in 2-4 weeks. Hopefully i get it on or before 11th of January. Fingers crossed

Tell me this, I have gone through a few reliable sources to seek information about opting for EOR for IELTS.
There were very famous online tutors mentioned on their websites that if there is a difference of 2 band between the lowest and the highest score, it is not recommended to opt for EOR. This is because the lowers score is automatically checked by a senior examiner.
Despite this, having read almost every comment in this thread, I have learned that 2 band differential isn't valid anymore. There were instances where some of the scores shot up by 2 bands (i.e. 5.5 to 7.5 in W).
My story goes this way... having sat for 8 attempts, I was not confident about the 8th attempt as I did not perform well in Listening module. So, two days after the exam, I did not wanna wait till the exam results are out and booked for my 9th attempt. (Dec 15th 2018). However, results for 8th attempt (Dec 1st 2018) came as L8 R9 S7 & W6.5. I know I was struggling in writing and surely did worse than in previous attempts which I constantly go 6 from 1st to 7th attempt. I decided to try my luck and I applied for EOR. Also, I am waiting for my 9th attempt results on the 27th Dec.
Funny and annoying thing in the 9th attempt was, there was a sick guy who kept sneezing in the exam hall. Unfortunately, the guy sneezed right when the answers for listening was being played Section 1 - 9th, 10th Qs. However, I kept getting 8/8.5/9 for Listening over the previous attempts, but it seems that it is gonna be a havoc this time around - The writing was super easy and I am sure I was well prepared, but no use if L goes down as there is no way for EOR for that module.

Mixed FeelingIf I were in your position (and I was briefly), I'd prefer getting my writing evaluated by external examiners. There are a lot of them online who will grade you and give you deep insight about your mistakes. Just a couple of checks were enough for me to get to 7.5. There is no point in wasting money on sitting tests until the root cause analysis is done. Rather than spending more money on test, spend a fraction on improving and then you'll reap the rewards.Guys,

Well, I got my essays evaluated by a Assistant of British Science Friction Writer (Sir Arthur C. Clarke) a Scientist
This was for my 8th & 9th Attempt and for all essays i got 8 Bands
Hi ibtee, thanks for your insight. Could you kindly share the links to some of the external examiners online. I would need it in preparation for my next attempt. I had a 9,9,6.5,7.5 score for L,R,W,S respectively on my second attempt on Nov 1 test date at BC. I filed in for EOR on writing and my band remain unchanged.
On my first attempt in August, I had 7,8 7,7.5 L,R,W,S respectively, so I had once received a band 7 in writing. I've also had a third attempt, 8.5,7.5,6.5,7.5 L,R,W,S. however I felt I didn't prepare adequately for my 3rd shot at IELTS and I was in a bit of a rush in writing another one.
So I would deeply appreciate if you would share the link here as I would want to prepare adequately for my next attempt.
