Hi,
Wanted to quickly check on the health condition related rules and regulations for Canada PR approval/application process.
Let's say somebody has a permanant cardiac pacemaker , will the candidate be considered for PR or will he not be considered?

Thanks,
James

Depends on your general cardiac health but it doesn't rule out PR. In general, people who have pacemakers tend to be older so unless your a spouse or a parent being sponsored age could be a factor.

ok for most of immigration purposes except of refugees or spousal or children sponsorship (dependant children); they will check if you do not have excessive demands on the health care system.

They will check it by estimating your average costs during next 10 years. And it will come down and depend on that.
For example things like - requirement of regular checks by cardiologist, special medicament and even probability or requirement of additional operation (as seen by similar cases or as predicted by cardiologist) may end up piling against you.

You need to be aware of that. Medical inadmissibility is a very grey zone (in some cases) and it is a rather uphill battle to win it (some do some do not).
Be aware of that.
Especially in your case where still rather young age (I can assume that you got it when you were like 40 or younger), can hint about some additional medical disposition that tend to get worse over the time.

Now when it comes to your age, that is the factor in EE itself as you will loose lot of points because of it.

You can always try.
