Are you sure that criminality would be checked only after at least eligibility passed? Coz I am in IP2 since 2nd Nov and the only update I got from IRCC was Eligibility ON GOING, criminality Passed and security not started.
Hi, criminality can start when eli is still on going, like in your case. You're not the 1st one I've seen this. Not sure about security though.

Guys, don't expect the progress bar to appear right after midnight. Think about it. You want to have a support team ready (i.e. when it's daylight) when you roll out new feature. So expect it sometime after 8am Eastern time.

Plus, I don't think it's simply 6 months from AOR, because it would be meaningless. If you've seen GCMS notes, you'll notice something called "due date" which indicates the date of passing the application onto the next stage/officer. I expect this progress bar to somewhat reflect this, so that we'll have a better idea of our application status.

Btw, based on last year data, the next PPR shower is on 12-20 Dec. Let's cross our fingers!

You are correct regarding the difference between Met and passed. But criminality and security are only initiated after the eligibility is at least met/recommended passed.
That's not true. According to my gcsm notes, criminality is met but eligibility and security are not yet started.

finally became a landed immigrant, renewed my old SIN number with permanent one and got my landed immigrant papers processed at the pearson airport. Got the health card application done in service canada. Best of luck to everyone waiting for the golden letter.
If you have time .. could you please share a word or two about landing procedure in Toronto ...
Something like ... "From the moment we exit the plane .. we went straight to....." -just to give all of us a glimps of whats gonna happened to them once they land and start immigration procedure ..

huge thanks in advance..
cheers

Eligibilty on going can mean it's been Met/Recommebded passed but a Case officer hasn't passed it yet.

Check again. Criminality is usually "not started" or " passed". Eligibility is what is "Met"

As far as I've read and noticed, "Met" and "Recommended Passed" have the same meaning: that the case analyst has declared it "Okay" but it's still pending to be finally reviewed by the case officer. Once it's finalized by the CO, it changes to "Passed" which is the ultimate step for Eligibility. Now the rest of the tasks: Criminality and Security can either be done simultaneously or before/after eligibility. It all varies case to case. Now, my apprehension regarding these steps might be wrong as I'm merely speculating from whatever information I have gathered from various forums and articles.
After seeing a few GCMS Notes, I've learnt that "Met" wording is used by Case Processing Agent while "Recommend Pass" wording is used by Case Analyst. There are 3 levels of officers in this process: Case Processing Agent, Case Analyst, and Visa Officer. I'm not entirely sure whether Case Processing Agent or Case Analyst is higher level, and whether "Met" or "Recommend Pass" is more assuring. Eligibility is correctly to be ultimately determined by the Visa Officer. Eligibility may be started by either Case Processing Agent or Case Analyst, and may not necessarily involve the other. It seems if eligibility is either "Met" by Case Processing Agent or "Recommend Pass" by Case Analyst then the application shall go straight to Visa Officer; if it's not, I think it may be reviewed further by the other officer before final decision by Visa Officer.

"Ongoing"/ "In Progress" = Met/Recommended passed but not Passed.
Which is why criminality can be passed while eligibilty is "ongoing"

To clarify myself, I've seen people say their eligibility is "review required" (this is what was in my head when I wrote "on going") while their criminality is already started/passed.

For those of you waiting for your progress bar, remember in the email they said they'd notify you when your progress bar is visible in your profile:

"On December 12, 2018, you’ll see a progress bar for your Express Entry application. The progress bar shows the time elapsed since we received your application. It will give you an estimated completion date based on our latest estimated processing times.

We’ll let you know when the progress bar is available for your application."

I am afraid my application might be under review required. Its been 40 days in ip2. I will complete 4 months since aor on the 17th of Dec. Do you guys recommend i order gcms.

It's possible, I have only seen one or two cases myself.
Most of the cases I've seen of Review required while criminality was passed was due to the lag in GCMS notes receipt time. These persons had a RR as at the time GCMS was ordered (they got to know via calls or mailing Ralph) and within the month before getting the notes the RR was cleared, eligibilty Met and criminality passed. And they moved to IP2, although the notes still had RR in them (because the notes are generated at least 30 days before you get it).

Yes, spot on.
What I've observed is that Most of the applications where the eligibilty was initially reviewed at the CIO, the review was done by CPA before being transferred to CPC. But for those reviewed at CPC, it's mostly CA. Maybe it's just the difference in the titles btw the intake office and processing centres.
Fun observation: When eligibilty is reviewed at the CPC straight on (not transferred to CPC from CIO), the entire process takes a shorter time.

I suggest you hang in there for a few more days man. IP2 has become longer and longer. If there's really a pattern then last year immitracker data suggests that a PPR rain is coming this 12-20 Dec. Maybe you can order GCMS after that.
