Hi! I am from the Philippines and all of my family members are PR in Vancouver. I applied online together with my 3 sons ages 16, 11 and 2. We are supposed to attend my sister's wedding and we are a part of the their wedding entourage. Unfortunately we got refused for the following reasons:

1. Travel History ( I admitted in the letter that this will be our 1st out of the country trip)
2. Family Ties in Canada and in your country of residence (I got confused on this because I believe have submitted enough proofs such as my Birth Certificate, Marriage Contracts, Family Photos)

Submitted the following:
-Passports
-Business Registration
-An emotional Invitation Letter from my Family which stated that we are part of the wedding entourage , this will be our 1st christmas together as a whole family after 10years and we will be meeting the relatives of my husband too. We stated too that the kids are just on a christmas break from school and we needed to be back by January 11, 2019.
-Proof of Means of Financial Support -Bank Certtificate and Passbook
-Proof of Financial Resource of Supporter -Notice of assessment of my mom, dad and brother
-Itinerary, Flight Booking Details
-Wedding Invitation, Marriage License of my sister, venue reservation contract

Now, my sister has been stressed and she wanted me to appeal and apply again. So our plan now is to reapply but it's gonna be me and my 2yo kid only.

Can you please help me to decide whether to reapply or not? I desperately need inputs. Thanks in advance.

The refusal due to family ties means you or your sons can possibly overstay in Canada *because* of your family ties there. It’s not because you didn’t prove they were family.

How long has your business been operating? How much does it earn? What is your role in it? Did you show at least CA$25,000 in your own funds? Did you show at least 4 months in your passbook?
Did you show your kids’ proof of enrollment?
Would have been better if you showed your relatives’ bank accounts instead of just their NOA.

The point is, they want to see reasons you will go back to the Philippines. Or maybe they even got turned off by the overly emotional letter.

Might be a better idea to go ahead with just your youngest son.
