I have been in SS for almost 8 months now. I just saw a profile/application update on my application. Has anyone experienced this before and what does it mean?
Its a good sign! It means there was some work done on your file. May I know what's your AOR and VO?

That is definitely a lot of time. What is surprising is that your IP2 happened in November. My application was also around your time and I got my IP2 in July. Did you try ordering CSIS and CBSA notes?

Which notes show that you are in SS and the SS start date.. CSIS or CBSA?

Order both CSIS and CBSA. CSIS notes are concise and they will tell you whether your file is with for security screening purposes or not. CBSA notes are exactly like GCMS notes except that the security related activities will be visible along with the dates.

Thanks Syed.

I have got my CSIS notes. It says "Mr.XX's Security Screening is still in progress. The information has been exempted from disclosure by virtue of one or more section 21(XXX).......

Hope this means, I am in security screening. Need to get the Security start date by applying CBSA notes.

Unfortunately, that does mean that you are under security screening. Apply for CBSA notes.

Hi All, Does S.15(1) actual mean SS? i have them where security is mentioned in GCMS notes. But when i ask every time they say Security is completed already.

AOR - March 2nd 2018
IP1 - somewhere in April
IP2 - May 6th 2018
ADR - May 8th (POF explanation and asked for IT returns for few years.)
ADR submitted - May 11th ( Gave whatever they asked for)
PPR - Still waiting...

As per GCMS notes ordered twice - All looks good. No negative comments.
Below is email reply from Ralph :

I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received Mar 2, 2018. It is at the Case Processing Center in Ottawa. Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.

Eligibility is in process and advised passed.
Criminality and security passed in May 2018.
Background check has been completed.
Medicals are valid until Jan 17, 2019.

Called CIC 3-4 times and every time they say file looks good and almost everything is completed. It is awaiting final Visa officer approval.
I am being kept with this update since June.

Really getting frustrated and disheartened as I am now nearing 9 months since AOR.
Unfortunately if you don't get ppr by Jan 17 you need to redo your medical.. This is what I've been told. You can only enter Canada with a valid medical exam
