My status is waiting in queue for final review from cic's email. I don't quite understand what this means. Do you think my security check is still going on? Or what kind of status my application is now? Because my medical expired in Sep 2018 and I updated the new upfront medical exam through case specific enquiry in Oct 2018, but in my GCkey it still shows we do not need your medical. Thanks.

The longer processing time loop:

Delays will feed more delay to the system and slow the flow, pushing the average up, not only because of math, but it will really cost time for the agents to analyze complicated cases. If they can process 4 per day, when they get a complex case, they can now proccess 2.
If Canada takes 300,000 Immigrants per year, 822 candidates must be seen per day. If 1/3 is from CEC/PNP nominees, they have to process 274/day.


- If it takes 10 months to process John, 20 for Mary, average would 15.

But because of Mary, it takes more time for John, because when an agent has Mary's applicatio, he won't stop untill finished some steps.

- For John now it takes 11 months, for Mary it takes 21. The average now is 16.

But a lot of Marys overload the system, they do not have new employees, and the backlog starts:

- For John now it takes 14 months, for Mary it takes 24 months because of ADRs. The average is now 19 months.

It doesn't matter how good was John's application. Maey made a bad, disorganized application, so the delay is caused by Mary.


In the middle of 2017, the processing time was 14 months. Now in July, it is taking 19 months. Which means we have too many Marys in the system.

I would like to ask your input about my situation. My pr application under pnp has reach 19 months. My application was sent april 2017, AOR july 2017. On January 2018 they’ve asked for my police clearances and an updated schedule A form which was sent by my representative on April 26 2018. My representative also received a confirmation that IRCC has received the said document and they will forward it to the responsible office. The last update I received from cic was when they’ve received the medical results.However when i follow up with cic about the status of my application since it’s been 19months already. They have told me that i’m not able to comply with the Schedule A form that they requested from me and they have waited for 10mos and yet there’s no update from my side, whereas i’m positive that we have provided the necessary document and we had the confirmation from IRCC. My question is will it affect the progress of my application, for how long do i have to wait in such case as mine? Please enlighten me.. Your response will be highly appreciated.

I know lot of cases where visa officer extended medical for up to 1 year.

I feel your pain so u r in 19th months so far ,,,, for me im in the middle of 26th months so far ,, called ircc agent no solid answer from there side always one line “”we r doing background check “””” no idea what kind of background check is going on ,everg day pass its making life frustrated always checking the account with a hope that today its gonna be the last day but from last 26 months the last day is not coming ,, hope for the best the waiting game will be over soon ,, god bless us all

Call them. You will have to wait about 1h in line. If you got additional documents request, check online if they received it.

It will 24 months in December this year . I am a Muslim, I am a post graduate from UBC in electrical engineering and I have been Canada since August 2014. My Canadian spouse is dependent on me. I work in Construction Management.

Can anyone please help or advise. My work permit is expiring in May 2019

what is your question? if you're wondering how much more time you're application is going to take unfortunately no one will be able to answer this question. I would suggest prepare your docs to apply for an extension and apply 3 months prior expiration date and wait wait wait. good luck
