Hi,

I have enough money for tuition however i intend to cover my living expenses with a part time job. Will the money I'll be earning from a part time job be enough to cover my living expenses? I'll be studying in Ontario.

Even if you would be able to get a job immediately, chances are you would only get minimum wage jobs. At CAD14/hour (for Ontario) and only 20hrs max/week (for off-campus jobs), that is only CAD280 per week. Unless one would be able to get on-campus job as well, on top of the 20hrs/week off-campus job. But that is pushing it too far, considering the approximately 20hrs/week classes, not to mention assignments and projects a student has to do.

:/ I've heard of a lot of people who managed to do it though, and I'm only planning to study a 2 year diploma anyway

also a side note the financial proof for visa isn't a problem since there's enough money to show the VO, the problem is that my parents will only cover the tuition costs so I'll have to cover my living expenses myself. I'm interested in hearing more opinions/advice from other senior/experienced members regarding this topic. thank you

The short answer is that some do - many don't.

If you don't already have the funds to cover your living expenses, then I wouldn't come to Canada. There's absolutely no guarantee you will get a job or that you will make enough money if you do. It's very expensive to live here. You won't qualify for a loan in Canada. What will you do if you run out of money after a few weeks? It makes no sense to come if you don't have funds for living expenses.
