@cansha I had an interesting conversation today.

So I called today to check if they got the last info I sent as it has been over a month and no reply to my email.

He put me on hold and when he came back his first question was how I ordered notes from outside of Canada. I explained and then I was shocked to hear that I had requested GCMS notes not once but 7 times!!! He was not impressed he explained that every time you order notes the case officer has to put your case on a brief hold to send the notes to the department that handles the editing and distribution. He also said each time that must be done it delays the processing of not only your case but that of others that the officer had to process as well. He explained that it should only be ordered after 6 months if at all.
I was very worried about the 7 orders and asked if I should be concerned. He went back to check the dates for me. It turns out 6 were on the same day that I requested them and the 7th was the next day. He said perhaps the firm I used had a glitch and that's why it was so many times. I apologised and explained that I was unaware that it affected the case agent and the cases. After that he was a lot more pleasant and friendly. He reassured me that they had received the information I sent (my reason for calling) and that I had nothing to worry about as everything was fine and they were almost complete. He didn't comment on the individual statuses and I didn't want to ask as it may have been rude.
That agent is full of shit. It’s none of his business how many times you order notes. That’s your right and allowed by Canadian law so he can shove his displeasure very deep up his ..... secondly, GCMS don’t work that way. Just because he is an agent it doesn’t mean he knows it as there are many credible sources who confirm how gcms notes are processed by a entirely different department.

However, lastly there is a very little chance that your third party agency ordered your notes 7 times because they would have to pay fee 7 times. May have been a bug on their system or may be the workflow shows the same entry 7 times I have no clue.

I found the order of clients is incorrect. I am supposed to be #1 but in the notes my child is #1. Also, the address of my husband is the old one which is different from mine.
The notes clearly show who is primary and who are dependents. So check that. Order may not matter unless they are showing child as primary applicant. It’s possible they are picking the address from an older application if you’re an inland candidate

I would love for IRCC to put out an official statement on this. I have heard similar stories from others.

My notes weren't very interesting or useful but I do think ordering notes can be extremely important/helpful to cases that are "review required''. It was comforting to see that there was nothing unusual in the notes and gave me hope for a 6mth ppr.

Hi guys,

AOR 8th june
MEP JUNE 19TH
No changes since IP1 19TH JUNE
This morning background check has changed from application is in progress to we are processing.
I have also received my GCMS today. Eligibility Recommend pass and CEC- MET which was done on June 28th CPC-Vegreville and file transferred to CPC- Ottawa.
As per GCMS security and Criminality hasn't started dated on Oct 18th. I wonder, background check status has changed this morning which is little good sign. But, it made me think did they just start background check ?? If so, this will take months from now. Its already close to 5 months.
Is anyone go through the same situation ?
Hey I have the very similar timeline.
AOR June 4, MEP June 14, then IP1. Eligibility Recommend pass and CEC- MET which was done on June 24th CPC-Vegreville and file transferred to CPC- Ottawa. Then on Oct 17, status changed to IP2. Same day I received PPR.
So good luck!!! You are almost there!

@finpudding - Have you submitted your passport to Ottawa office for stamping?
Any idea how much time it takes to come back(within Canada)

You can travel.

The only problem is if you get your ppr and won't be back in time for the submission deadline. You'll just have to raise a CSE for an extension.

Also book flexible tickets incase you need to submit it before your trip but won't get it back in time.
