temporary leave without pay affecting years of experience

I am contemplating taking some leave without pay (temporary leave of absence). This is fully supported by my boss. My question is on the EE application, if I have 35 months of actual Canadian work experience and then take a month leave, can I still apply as if I have 3 years of experience while on leave? What about if I take the month off (without pay) go back to work and resign the next week, would that be counted as 3 years of Canadian work experience? Let's say I apply for EE after the resignation. I know paid vacations are counted, I just need to know about unpaid time off.
Thanks!

small firm. they don't know. I'm sure they will fill out the ROE per whatever it says so I would assume I should be fine as long as ROE shows the time.... The 3 years is actually a combination of 2 jobs. I was just wondering from any of the experts who have deeper knowledge of Canadian experience. thx

Proof of what? I would have proof of leave of absense. It would not be paid so there is no payroll proof. The ROE lists first day worked and last day paid. But it also lists amounts made the last 12 months paychecks. There would be some 0s in there. Do those 0s count as time (experience) or not?

No, that work experience won't be counted.
DelPiero, one other option is to take a day off a week, each week to get the leave. Do you know how many hours per week is needed for full time experience to count? I thought I saw 32 or 35 hours somewhere but can't find the link. If it was 32 hours, I could take a day off per week and take the corresponding drop in pay while still getting the experience hours up to 3 years. Thoughts?

From here (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=665&top=29) it says "Full-time work experience means working at least 30 paid hours per week. To qualify, you must have skilled work experience, meaning work in occupations listed at NOC Skill Type 0 (managerial), or NOC Skill Level A (professional occupations) or NOC skill Level B (technical and trade occupations)."
So by that, my understanding is I could take 10 hours off a week (and just work 30). Anyone disagree?

That's fine.
