Hi there, I don't know if you have got your PR already but wish you all the best.
I'm just wondering what did you after your PGWP expired on July 31st.? I'm experiencing a similar situation here as my PGWP expires on Nov. 7th and so does my visa. I applied BOWP on Oct. 03 with the AOR and I understand that it'll take a few weeks to get the BOWP and I'll be put in to the implied status after my PGWP expires. However, I need a valid visa to renew my driver's license (expires on Nov. 30th) and SIN (expires on Nov. 7th). I'll be really appreciate it if you could me some advice.
Thank you!
Yes, I already got my PR and My BOWP got cancelled by CIC as I got PR approved before the processing of BOWP.

In your case, You can continue to work with expired SIN when you are in implied status. My SIN got expired on July 31st and I got New SIN on Aug 28th only during landing interview. So I worked around a month with expired SIN. There is no issue with that if you are in implied status.

I am not sure about driving license.

Thanks

Hello everyone,

My current open work permit is expiring in 15 days from now. I have bc pnp support letter and nomination certificate. I went to the border and they said that employer needs to pay compliance fee of $230. When I get that receipt they will issue me a closed work permit on border. My questions are :

Can I apply for extension of my current open work permit with just a copy of my Aor and pnp support letter online?

Am I even eligible for an open work permit extension or it is just that I can get closed work permit now? My pnp letter says no restrictions on employment.

Also if I apply online for a closed or open work permit extension, will I still have to attach compliance fee receipt ?

Please advise. Thank you

Hello All,
I am CEC Inland EE applicant, I was invited in December 2017 with a score of roughly 460

02/28/18: Submitted my PR application
06/20/18: Applied for GCMS notes
07/20/18: Recieved GCMS notes; medicals & criminality passed. Eligibility & Background check in progress, SS not started
08/27/18: Submitted my BOWP application a day before my previous WP expiry (August 28th)
10/26/18: Recieved 2 month update for BOWP application stating no updates have been made
10/30/18: BOWP has been approved, my Passport expires in June 2019 so that is the expiry of my new BOWP

Still no PR updates since medical passed and BG check started back in March 2018 :(

Hello everyone,

I have been researching for BOWP information tonight whether it has an impact on the processing time of your PR Profile. Without knowing i have asked this question in the August 2018 AOR PR thread but since under this thread people are more likely to be or have been in my shoes. I woul be very grateful if you guys could shine some light in this patient waiting stressful days...

I am simply copy pasting my initial question in August 2018 AOR PR:

"A quick naive question for the veterans. If anyone has any info or experience about this I'd be grateful.

I have received my Bridging Open Work Permit on the 30th of October which took about 68-69 days. Do you guys know if having BOWP approved means your PPR should be received sooner or something. My lawyer applied for my BOWP and PR at the same day. Is there any connection between these 2 applications? I know BOWP is basically tied to PR application, simply without applying to Express Entry you cannot apply for Bridging Open Work Permit. Since I have got my BOWP approved last night is there any chance/possibility that PR process is very soon?
My ITA: 22nd of August 2018
My AOR: 23rd of August 2018 (e-Approved AOR)
Currently in IP2 / Medicals passed (Do not know the dates since my account is linked to my Lawyer)
My Stream is: CEC - Inland

Thanks in advance "

Only 1 person seemed to be in the same situation as I was and the person stated that since it is approved my profile is close to being successfully completed. Is this true.

Thank you

I just received my BOWP papers. Does it mean that my PR is close to being approved as well? Can any veterans provide any info about this?

Hi, Please can you guide about the documents you submitted for the BOWP application?
Hello, I'm afraid i do not know the requirements for the BOWP application. My lawyer basically took care of it. All i know is that you need to apply for PR and use the PR AOR to apply for BOWP.
I do not wish to misdirect you or anything, I truly do not know. My lawyer took care of it both my PR and my BOWP at the same day.

Thank you! Please see below all the documents I have attached:

- Medicals
- Screenshot of my PR AOR
- Photo copy of each marked passport page
- Copy of my current work permit
- LOE

With my LOE, I explained that I was applying for an extension of my current work permit whiles I'm waiting on a PR decision.
In my LOE is where I attached my PR AOR, Copy of my valid work permit and I added any other work experience that couldn't fit in the main form. I didn't attach any work related documentations.

Hello everyone:
My current open work permit is going to expire in the next 3 month. I tried to apply for BOWP,
but I haven't seen any question like:
"Have you been told by an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada?"
so, my checklist doesn't have any LOE, to put my AOP and other documents on it.
My checklist: medical, pass, photo, marriage license and spouse statues.
Please advise me
thanks

You applied for PR? If so, why in a hurry? You can apply a day before the expiration of your work permit. Maybe you will get your PR by then and you might not need a BOWP.
