ours was submitted on march 1, 2017, transferred to VO on april 10 2017, ppr march 5 2018 - you should look at your specific VO thread and look at the spreadsheet youll have a better idea of your VO processing times
As far as I have seen.. Many of their files get transferred first and then the rest of the procedure starts.. Atleast bgc starts after transferring to local vo... For my file,, yet to transfer but bgc has already started(cic)

I thought usually what happens is that they do the eligibility check first and it will say next step is to conduct a background check. Then when eligibility check is done, the background check goes into progress. However, ours has been saying background check is in progress for 3 months, so I thought they had made a mistake. But when I asked what this means, someone in the February 2017 thread told me they heard that they recently started processing the background check in Mississauga before it gets to the VO. I am kinda confused as to what is really going on, that's why I am going to order the notes. But I think I will give it another month, as it's only been a few weeks since they started processing in Mexico. That way, it should show something in the background check after 2 months, I hope, in case they really didn't do anything in Mississauga.

I also don't understand when they send out the AOR2. It seems that you got the "we are processing your app" message around the same time as me but you haven't got the AOR2 email yet. Someone else said it took them 2 months to get that same AOR2 email, so it's a good thing you checked your eCAS. Maybe it depends on what officer is processing your app.
Hello, did your background check started before your file was transferred to Mexico? If so, how long after they started the bgc did you receive notification that your application was in Mexico? I’m in the same situation and don’t know what to expect, bgc has been in process for two weeks

My background check never said in progress for some reason. Not even when I ordered my notes

HI,
I don't come on here too often anymore, but happened to see your post. We had a rather long and drawn out process with our application but did get through it after 14 months. They started our background check right before our file was transferred to Mexico and we saw it in our GCKey account. They notified us (on the account and via email) that our file was in Mexico after 7+weeks (again it took an unusually long time). They forgot to send us notification that we needed an RCMP fingerprint check (dragged out the process for 2 or more extra months) and then we needed an interview and had our app transferred to another Visa office for the interview. So you shouldn't really go by what happened in our timeline. The bgc was in effect the whole 14 months until they approved us after the interview.

It's good your bgc has gone into process, but speaking from my own experience, I wouldn't put too much stock into that. Hopefully you hear from the VO soon that your file has been opened there. Good luck with the process!
BTW, we are still being screwed by the government. It seems there was no record in their database that my partner applied for his PR card that was to come in the mail after landing. He called them 3 months after landing and no card in the mail and they said his profile was empty and had to fill it in then. I guess IRCC will never be kind to us! LOL
