Thanks for the info! We should be getting SA emails next week, hopefully.

I think CIC will update PA's "in process" status once they transfer the file to the local VO.
My PA application already shows in process, it was "in process" the day I got file number July 5th. I also am not able to link the PA application to his online account

How do I link application online? I am the sponsor and I only have the application number when I received AOR1. The application number is same for both sponsor and PA?
The UCI mentioned in the email was my UCI which I got when I applied for Canada. My husband hasn't got his UCI yet, I tried to link his application online today, it shows application not found even though I can check the status on ecas. I tried with different information still can't find it.

The online account I created in gckey doesn't really ask for email verification or anything, I was just wondering am I doing it wrong? I created a gckey account for my husband, provided his email address, but he didn't receive any verification email, but I can login to the account I created, then I tried to link his application online but it shows error.

Can anyone help me understanding where I am doing it wrong?

If it asks, how many people are in the application.... try putting "2" for PA and sponsor. Hope this works for you.
If everything goes well, you will see your husband's UCI after you link the application.

Should be something like this when you click "Check full application status"

Applicant information
  • Principal Applicant:
  • Unique Client Identifier (UCI):
  • Application number:
  • Date Received: June 11, 2018
  • Biometrics:
    • Biometrics Number:
    • Date of Biometrics Enrolment:

But when I filled up his forms I put down 1 applicant in his application. Was that wrong?

What you did is correct. If you don't have any dependants, you were supposed to write "1". The GCKey requires that you include the sponsor in the count for some reason, however.

Thank you so much! It worked!!! The status shows we're reviewing your eligibility, so that means nothing has started yet?

It was all plumeria.phca. I was just explaining her instructions. :)

It just means that the application is still ongoing. They already started the review before you received AOR1. Receiving AOR1 means that your documents are complete or almost complete, and it will not be returned.

Really? You got AOR then it got returned? That's very weird. :(

You'll have to wait for you to receive it back and it should have a note on what's wrong with your application; usually incomplete documents or filled out incorrectly.

Don't feel too bad. I've seen cases where applications have been returned several times due to various reasons and they still got their COPR eventually. Just give it another shot. Look at the bright side! You'll be able to fix the issue and add more proofs if you'd like. You never know, maybe you'll get your application approved faster even with this happening.
